From cedar shake tear-off to a complete Malarkey roofing system. This is what a roof replacement should look like.

We stripped the old cedar shakes, resheathed the roof, upgraded the ventilation, and installed Malarkey Vista AR shingles. We also installed ice and water protection around the entire perimeter and roof penetrations, along with upgraded pipe boots for added protection where leaks commonly start.

A roof is only as strong as its weakest component. That's why we focus on the details you don't always see in the finished product, not just the shingles on top.

No shortcuts. EVER.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for us, but even more than that, thank you for all of the positivity, kind words, glowing reviews, referrals, and support you’ve shown Gold Shield Roofing & Gutters.

We’re incredibly grateful to have been named a finalist and make it into the Top 3 in Clark County. For a small, locally owned company, being recognized alongside so many great local businesses means a lot to our entire team.

We may not have taken first place this year, but we’re walking away feeling incredibly proud of what we’ve built and, most importantly, grateful for the community that has helped us get here.

Thank you to The Columbian for putting this together and giving local businesses an opportunity to be recognized.

Congratulations to all of the finalists and winners this year. We’re honored to be among you.

And to everyone who voted, referred a friend, used us for your roofing or gutter project, recommended us to a neighbor, or simply cheered us on: thank you. We genuinely couldn’t do this without you.

Roof Replacement in Vancouver, WA | The Details Matter

Another roof replacement completed in Vancouver, Washington, with a focus on the details that help a roofing system perform for years to come.

One upgrade we strongly recommend is metal valleys. Valleys are major water channels on a roof, so using durable metal instead of relying solely on exposed shingles provides an additional layer of protection in one of the most leak-prone areas of the roof.

We also installed Malarkey RidgeFlex hip and ridge shingles. These purpose-built shingles provide a clean finished appearance while helping protect the highest and most exposed portions of the roof.

Another detail that often gets overlooked is the starter shingle installation. We install starter shingles around the entire perimeter of the roof, including the rakes, rather than only along the eaves. Proper starter shingles help seal the edges of the roofing system and provide better protection against wind-driven rain.

These aren't flashy upgrades, but they're exactly the kinds of details that matter when you're investing in a new roof.

At Gold Shield Roofing & Gutters, we focus on complete roofing systems, premium materials, and proper installation rather than taking shortcuts.
