Clients often ask " how can i make my carpets last longer and stay cleaner' my answer is Vacuum,vacuum vacuum. The very next question is what is the best vacuum? Well its the one you will use! Don't buy some big bulky vacuum that you hate to use it defeats the purpose. Buy one that you'll enjoy using or at least not hate. Vacuuming often will prolong the life of your carpet and keep it cleaner longer.
