Many of you may have experienced a termite swarm last night following the afternoon rain here in Charleston. While it can certainly be alarming, termite swarms are very common this time of year.

If you find a few wingless termite swarmers indoors, there's no need to worry—they are harmless and cannot cause damage to your home.

However, if you are seeing large numbers of WINGED swarmers actively flying indoors, please let us know so we can help determine whether further inspection is needed.

TERMITE SWARMING SEASON IS HERE 🪳☀️

Seeing winged termites around lights in the evening? Don’t panic! This is very common during Formosan termite swarming season in the Lowcountry.

A few swarmers indoors — especially dead ones near windows or doors — does NOT necessarily mean your home has an active problem. Swarmers are attracted to light and often make their way inside accidentally.

⚠️ However, if you’re seeing LARGE amounts indoors at night, give us a call so we can investigate.
