We are still in need of more than 70 items to ensure all of our homebound neighbors receive something special this holiday season. These gifts don’t just brighten their day... they’re meaningful, practical items that help keep our neighbors comfortable and cared for.

If you’re able to donate or share this list with friends and family, we would be so grateful. Last-minute donations are needed as soon as possible, with Monday as the final day to ensure everything can be included.

Happy Holidays, and thank you for helping us make a difference!

We live in South Cackalacky. It’s humid. But we’re in a drought. It’s technically “fall”, but it’s also 85 degrees outside with mosquitoes still feasting on the blood in our arms and legs—unless you’re smart and still have Ledford’s coming to spray your yard to knock those suckers (pun intended) down. 😏There’s dying mums and pumpkins on the front porch that will never make it to Halloween, Christmas trees at Costco, and two (ish?) hurricanes brewing off the coast.
We are keeping an eye on the weather and will let you know if we have to reschedule your inspections and/or treatments this week! Hopefully this thing (since it isn’t even a named storm as of right now!) takes a hard right turn and stays in the ocean. Just go buy some milk, bread, water, and batteries just in case. No cancellations are on our agenda as of now! 🌀 🥴🫶

ASIAN LONGHORNED BEETLE DETECTED IN MOUNT PLEASANT

Key points from Clemson University College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences:
-Inspectors found Asian longhorned beetle (ALB) on the grounds of a commercial shopping center in Mount Pleasant.
-Residents, arborists, construction site contractors and debris management companies should not move certain hardwood tree debris, including maple, from Mount Pleasant.
-Officials ask home and business owners to give DPI and USDA inspectors property access to conduct surveys which will help determine the extent of the infestation.
-Residents of Mount Pleasant and surrounding communities are encouraged to help by looking for the beetle and examining trees on their property for damage from ALB.
-Clemson DPI and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Plant and Animal Inspection Service (APHIS) are collaborating to determine the extent of the infestation. They will announce an official quarantine area in the coming weeks.
