This is what a deserted honey bee hive looks like after wax moths take over (not fun).

Once a colony becomes weak or abandons the hive, wax moths can quickly move in. Their larvae tunnel through the comb, feeding on old wax, pollen, and debris while leaving behind thick webbing and damaged comb.

What was once a thriving honey bee colony can turn into a mess of webbing, larvae, and slimmed honey comb.

It’s still important to get these removed from a home as they can cause mold and other pest issues!

Did you know that the average worker bee will only live about 4-6 weeks.. compared to a queen who can live anywhere from 2 to 5 years? 👑

She can lay well over 1,000 eggs In just one day.

unless the colony swarms. After mating, a queen spends nearly all of her life inside the hive. The main exception is when she departs with a swarm to start a new colony. Which is where this hive came from!
