🔥 1 Of 200 | Es**rt RS Cosworth Monte Carlo 🔥
What a transformation we’ve achieved on this Mallard Green Es**rt RS Cosworth. Super rare with only 200 Monte Carlo editions ever produced and just 73 of those being right-hand drive, it’s a privilege to work on a car of this calibre. Jobs like this are exactly why we’ve built one of the strongest reputations in Pembrokeshire. The time, effort, stress and absolute obsession with detail that goes into every vehicle here is something we never cut corners on. My reputation will always mean more to me than the cost of a job.
As you can see from the before photos, under the correct lighting this car was in a very sorry state when it arrived. What looked respectable at a glance quickly revealed itself to be hiding years of poor polishing, sanding marks and tired paintwork.
After 4–5 days of intensive work, including a carefully multi-stage paint correction, we brought the paintwork back to life and restored the depth and clarity this car deserves.
To finish it off, the vehicle was protected using professional only FEYNLAB Ultra 5 year ceramic coating, along with badge removal and replacement and fresh vinyl stickers to bring everything back to a clean, factory fresh look. We also applied Feynlab coatings to the glass and wheels and suspension components as well as carrying out a wheels off detail.
Unfortunately perfection wasn’t possible on this one due to previous poor repairs and extremely thin paint, but we pushed the finish right to the absolute limit to achieve the best and safest result possible and this is the exact level of care every vehicle receives here.
On a vehicle as rare and valuable as this, extreme care has to be taken during machine polishing. This isn’t a case of simply running a polisher over it in a day and hoping for the best.
The paintwork on this Cosworth was very delicate, with
• Multiple body lines and edges
• Extremely thin paint from previous polishing
• Insane heavy sanding marks from past repairs
• Small areas where a body shop had slightly burned through edges
All things you unfortunately see on a 30+ year old car that’s had work done in its lifetime.
Because of this, the correction process had to be slow, Paint depth readings were taken frequently, and every decision was guided by over 10 years of hands on detailing experience.
In some areas we could only safely perform a single polishing pass to avoid the risk of burning through the paint. Instead of chasing perfection and risking permanent damage, the focus was on refining and preserving the paint that could be saved, ensuring the finish was dramatically improved while maintaining the long term integrity of the vehicle.
Although cars like this can now sell for well over £100,000, the condition of the finish on arrival unfortunately told a very different story.
The paintwork was absolutely plastered in what looked like 500 grit sanding marks, some of the worst I’ve personally seen. Instead of the deep gloss you’d expect from a car of this calibre, the surface was flat, hazy and lifeless.
Where it was safe to do so, we wet sanded multiple areas before correction to level the damage and dramatically improve the finish. Even with the limitations of the paint thickness, we achieved roughly 80–90% correction in many areas, which is a massive improvement considering the condition from the before photos & panels like the bonnet would ideally require repainting to be absolutely perfect.
This is exactly why it’s so important to trust a reputable, experienced detailer with a vehicle of this value. With over 10 years of experience, I know how to safely push paintwork to its limits while still protecting it. You might pay a little more for skill & experience and the correct processes but the end result speaks for itself. This is what happens when the job is done properly.
