⚠️ Annual Customer Awareness Post ⚠️
As a local, established business, we feel it’s important to raise awareness each year about cold-calling companies — whether that’s door knocking or unsolicited calls offering cleaning or maintenance services.
In our experience, word of mouth and genuine reviews are by far the best way to find the right company for your requirements. It’s also always best to use a local company where possible — local businesses rely on reputation, take pride in their work, and are accountable long after the job is done.
🚩 Things to watch out for:
⚠️Pushy doorstep sales tactics — do not feel obliged to agree to anything
⚠️“Patch tests” offered on the spot — often used to make you feel pressured into purchasing a service you didn’t plan on
⚠️Very high starting prices followed by sudden, massive “discounts” — this is a huge red flag
📌 A recent real example:
Before Christmas, a customer contacted us after receiving a quote from a company based near Bridgend for a roof clean.
Their quote came in at nearly £6,000.
We were genuinely astonished at such a blatant rip-off.
Our quote for the same work came in at just under £600 — a massive saving, with no compromise on quality whatsoever.
We simply price the job right first time.
Needless to say, the customer chose us and was extremely happy with the results, as reflected in our reviews.
🧠 As with most things these days, the key to finding the right tradesperson is doing your research.
If you’re unsure — don’t book.
