🚨 You Know It’s a Good One When You Hear the Suction! 🚨

Called out to a blocked sewer line where, on lifting the manhole cover, we found it completely full and backing up.

A quick plunge was all it took… and the suction as the blockage gave way was incredibly loud! 🌊 The water disappeared down the line in seconds – definitely one of those satisfying moments!

To make sure everything was working as it should, we then:

✅ Cleared the blockage with the plunger
🚿 Jetted the sewer line to ensure it was completely free-flowing
🧼 Washed down and cleaned the affected area
🚽 Checked the flow from the toilets, confirming everything was draining perfectly

🚰 Blocked Sink Cleared – Full Flow Restored! 🚰

Called out to a blocked sink that was draining very slowly due to a heavy build-up of fat and scale inside the waste pipe.

Using mechanical chains, we descaled the pipework, removing the stubborn build-up and restoring the pipe back to its original diameter.

✅ Blockage cleared
🔧 Mechanical descaling completed
🚿 Pipe restored to its original size
✔️ Full flow restored

It’s amazing how much fat and scale can build up over time, gradually reducing the size of the pipe until it eventually causes a blockage. Thankfully, this one is now flowing like new again!

🌲🚧 12 Days, 40 Metres, Countless Challenges… Job Complete! 🚧🌲

What a project this has been! 💪

Over the last 12 days, our team has completed a 40-metre sewer relay through the middle of the woods, along with the construction of multiple new manholes at depths of up to 1.8 metres.

This wasn’t your average excavation. Working amongst large tree roots, enormous trees, and challenging ground conditions meant every metre had to be earned. It took plenty of hard graft, determination, and teamwork to get the job over the line.

Our work included:

✅ 40m of brand-new sewer pipe installed
✅ Multiple new manholes constructed
✅ Excavation to depths of 1.8m
✅ Replacement of a sewer line over 100 years old
✅ Full testing and restoration of the new system

There’s something incredibly satisfying about replacing infrastructure that’s served its purpose for over a century with a brand-new, reliable drainage system that will last for many years to come.

🚧 Dropped Joint Repaired – New Pipework Installed! 🚧

RS and IOW Drains & Maintenance were called out to investigate a recurring drainage issue, where our inspection revealed a dropped joint that had sunk by around 3 inches. To make matters worse, the 90° bend was completely cracked, allowing water to escape and affecting the flow.

Our team carried out the repair by:

✅ Carefully lifting the patio slab
⛏️ Excavating the affected area
🔧 Removing the damaged section of pipework
🚿 Installing new pipework and a new 90° bend
✔️ Restoring full flow through the drainage system
🧱 Reinstating the patio slab, leaving everything neat and tidy

Another quality repair completed, with the drainage system now fully watertight and flowing exactly as it should.

🚨 Blocked Gully Cleared – Soap & Fat Build-Up Removed! 🚨

Another busy day on the tools! This one was a blocked external gully caused by a build-up of soap residue and fat, which had gradually restricted the flow.

We carried out a full clearance by:

✅ Running chains down from the sink U-bend to ensure the internal waste pipe was completely clear
✅ Removing the soap and fat build-up
✅ Cleaning and clearing the external gully
🚿 Restoring full flow throughout the system

Everything is now running exactly as it should, and another happy customer can use their drainage system without any worries.

🚨 Fat & Scale Build-Up Causing Gully Blockage! 🚨

RS and IOW Drains & Maintenance was called out to a property with a blocked gully that wasn’t draining properly.

After carrying out a CCTV inspection, we discovered the cause was high amounts of fat and scale build-up throughout the line, restricting flow and causing the blockage.

Our team got straight to work:

📹 CCTV survey completed
🔧 Mechanical descaling carried out
🚿 Line thoroughly cleaned all the way through
✅ Full flow restored

The amount of scale and fat removed from the pipework was impressive, but with the line mechanically descaled and cleaned, everything is now running exactly as it should.
