Another productive job completed by the team this week! 💪

Following an inspection of the drainage system, we identified several issues requiring attention, including damaged manhole covers, root ingress, and defects within the sewer line.

Our team carried out:

✅ Replacement of 2 manhole frames and covers
🌳 Professional root cutting to remove intrusive roots from the sewer line
🔧 Installation of multiple patch liners to repair damaged sections of pipework
🚿 Full restoration of flow through the drainage system

The root intrusion had begun affecting the condition and performance of the line, but with the roots removed and the patches installed, the sewer is now flowing freely and is protected against further ingress.

A great result for the customer and a drainage system that’s now back in top condition ✔️

🚨 Wet Wipes Strike Again – Blocked Manhole Cleared! 🚨

Called out to a blocked manhole today that had completely restricted the flow in the drainage system.

The culprit? A build-up of wet wipes mixed with tissue. Unfortunately, they simply don’t break down the same way and end up sticking together in the pipework, creating a stubborn blockage that sits in the line and causes problems.

We quickly got to work with the plunger and:

✅ Cleared the blockage
✅ Restored full flow
✅ Got the drainage system back to normal

It’s a simple reminder that even products labelled as “flushable” can often cause major issues further down the line.

🚨 Blocked Stack Pipe Cleared – What a Satisfying One! 🚨

Called out today to a property with a blocked stack pipe causing drainage issues throughout the system.

After investigating, we disconnected the stack pipe and found it was completely full, with nowhere for the waste to go. Once access was gained, a plunge was all it took to break through the blockage and get things moving again.

💥 Blockage cleared
✅ Stack pipe flowing freely
🚿 Full drainage restored

The amount of backed-up water behind the blockage made this one especially satisfying to watch as everything finally rushed through and the system came back to life!

🚨 The Enemy Strikes Again… The Dreaded Toilet Freshener! 🚨

Today’s blockage was caused by one of the most common culprits we come across – a toilet freshener that had found its way into the sewer line. 😬

Once lodged in the pipe, it created a restriction which allowed tissue and debris to build up around it, eventually leading to a completely blocked sewer line.

Our team got to work: IOW Drains & Maintenance

✅ High-pressure jetting to break down the blockage
✅ Cleared enough debris to locate the cause
✅ Hooked the freshener with chains and pulled it from the line
✅ Restored full flow to the sewer system

It’s always surprising how much trouble one small item can cause when it ends up where it shouldn’t!

Everything is now flowing perfectly again and another customer is back up and running ✔️

🚨 Major Drain Excavation & Repair Completed This Week With IOW Drains & Maintenance 🚨

We attended this property last week following a serious blockage issue. After carrying out a CCTV survey, we discovered multiple breaks and fractures throughout the drainage line.

The damaged pipework had been allowing constant water escape into the ground, which had caused:
⚠️ Ground sinking
⚠️ A large void beneath the area
⚠️ Damp entering the property

Our team carried out a full excavation to expose the damaged line and completed:
✅ Full replacement of the broken pipework
✅ Water tight new drainage system installed
✅ Void fully cleared and backfilled
✅ Concrete reinstatement completed
✅ Finished off with fresh 20mm shingle for a clean final finish

All works were completed this week and everything is now flowing exactly as it should with a solid, secure, and fully sealed drainage system ✔️

Another major drainage issue resolved properly from start to finish 👌

🚨 Slow but Satisfying Root Blockage Cleared! 🚨

Called out to a blocked manhole that was draining extremely slowly — but definitely one of those satisfying clears once it finally started moving! 🌊

After clearing the blockage, we carried out a CCTV inspection, which revealed:
🌳 Heavy root intrusion in the chamber
🌳 Roots running all the way down the line

To fully restore the system, we completed:
✅ Professional root cutting
✅ Patch repairs to damaged sections
✅ Full clean and restoration of the line

The sewer line is now clear, free-flowing, and water tight once again ✔️

🚨 Backdrop Blockage Cleared – Flow Back with Force! 🚨

Called out to a blocked manhole, with the issue located in the backdrop causing restricted flow.

We carried out a plunge to clear the blockage — and as soon as it gave way… 🌊 it came flying through the backdrop into the next manhole!
