Vauxhall Combo 2000 miles follow up health check after replacing the DPF.

We recently had this Combo in with a failed DPF that was causing DPF & NOX efficiency faults and extremely high PN readings (Particulate Number) at the tailpipe. The PN numbers are now below 5000, pressures and regen history are bang on 👌

We had to dust off the old BDM frame today on this EDC17C10 ECU..... Must be almost 10 years since we had to use this method but this ECU simply wouldn't play nice with the usual OBD or pinout methods.
Now the big question is.... Have those boot pins and pads shrank or is it the old man's eye's failing 👀🤣

Ford Kuga DPF assessment and PN test.

This Kuga was booked in with a suspected blocked DPF and was referred to us by the customers regular garage. The DPF was actually ok on this one, not blocked and also had great filtration as confirmed on the PN test. The cars on board Particulate Matter sensor had failed so this info was relayed back for their regular garage to replace the part.

The advantage of the PN (Particulate Number) test is that PM sensors often fail when the DPF is internally cracked so this either confirms or rules this out.
