I am a professional house cleaner and I would like to explain the way I and some others charge to clean your home. I'll start with an example. When you take your car to the shop, and get the brake pads changed, you don't tell the mechanic "oh by the way, since the car happens to be there, will you do an oil change for free? Of course not, because it will take extra labor and parts. When it comes to cleaning a home, there's a difference between deep cleaning and a weekly cleaning. When I get a new client, I require them to have me do a deep clean. Because then each week thereafter that certain chore will only take a couple of minutes. If your house cleaner hasn't deep cleaned your house, it's kind of like polishing a turd each week. It looks clean but it's not clean. Here's an example: a ceiling fan is included on a deep clean. The cleaner has to get a step stool and clean it off from the top to the bottom. Including removing the glass globes and washing them and polishing the paddles. It's something that can't be done weekly because it would take too much time. But, doing a weekly clean you could use a duster and give it a quick wipe. Give professional house cleaners a break it's not an easy job and the homeowners are usually very picky. Be reasonable what you ask your house cleaner to do. My recommendation: let them deep clean first, then the weekly cleaning will be quick and easy. Otherwise you're just putting lipstick on the pig.
