Let's talk oven cleaning!

This is NOT a service we currently offer but we hope to in the future. We have been practising cleaning the glass inside ovens at the moment.

We will then be researching the best chemicals/methods to clean the rest of the oven. It is important to have a chemicals/equipment that will pe*****te years of baked on build up but also not cause damage to the ovens.

To keep on top of oven maintenance it is recommended that spills/food be wiped out of the oven immediately after they have cooled down. A deeper clean is recommended every 3 months.

The past couple of months have been the most challenging as a business due to ongoing health issues which have unfortunately had a significant impact on my small business.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who has been patient and understanding during this time. I completely understand that this has not worked for everyone and some have needed to seek other services but we appreciated having you.

Being a solo business owner means that when I'm out sick the business has to close. It has been frustrating but I'm working hard to get things back on track. Thank you for continuing to support my small business.

Let's talk bleach!

Bleach is primarily used as a disinfectant or to remove stains. It is highly effective in killing bacteria and viruses on surfaces. It can also remove surface mould and help with hard stains.

However bleach has strong fumes and can cause skin irritation if not wearing the appropriate protective gear. It is corrosive to certain surfaces such as stainless steel with repeated use and can ruin coloured fabrics. Using bleach with other chemicals can cause a toxic gas to be released.

Bleach can be used to clean surface mould. Mould can grow beneath the surface such as in silicone or grout. Bleach kills/whitens the mould on the surface but may not kill the mould beneath the surface causing it to grow back. To completely get rid of mould you would need to replace the surface such as grout or silicone.

**As a business we do not use bleach or bleach based products due to it being a corrosive chemical, the fumes, potential to stain and due to using many other chemicals and not wanting to create any toxic gases **

Orpwood & Co Cleaning Services turns 2!

Without our wonderful clients and community, getting this far would not have been possible. From a 21 year old with cleaning experience but no idea how to run a business. To now 2 years later working 9 hour days (plus all the hours of work at home), cleaning over 20 houses a week and 43 regular clients. With hard work and support from the community our solo run business has made it to 2 years.

As our clients know the last few months have been the hardest for us both personally and professionally, but we hope to finish out the year strong. We appreciate our clients for sticking by us and also appreciate those who have given us a go even if our service wasn't for you. We thank you all for your support!

IN SEARCH OF A NEW CLIENT

We are in search of a very specific new client. We are looking for someone who only requires a monthly spot. We only usually accept weekly or fortnightly clients so do not have anyone on our waitlist to fit this space. But to try accommodate for another monthly client we are looking for a second monthly client.

> Monthly clean (once every 4 weeks)
> 1 hour spot - 1-3 bed, 1 bath only
> Friday mid morning
> Must be located in the Riverside, Trevallyn, West Launceston or Prospect area due to travel time restriction

We apologise for our closure today. Unfortunately we were closed due to personal circumstances as our family had to take priority.

We acknowledge how frustrating it can be when we close due to illness or personal circumstances. Unfortunately this is the reality of running a solo business, we don't have anyone to cover us when we close and rely on our clients understanding that we are only human and doing the best we can. We understand the last month has had a few closures due to circumstances out of our control and struggling with our health, we are trying to get back into the routine of things now. If our business is not for you that is completely okay, we understand. We are still learning as we go how to run a business and have been thrown some challenges over this past month.

We appreciate your support and patience. We thank those who have stuck by us and understand this last month has been a very difficult one but hoping things go upwards. And remember we are only human.
