Do you have doom piles all over your house? A basement you avoid because it’s become a constant trip hazard? A linen closet that threatens to take you out every time you open the door? 😂

Maybe you’re overwhelmed by how much there is to do, and you can’t even figure out where to start anymore. Maybe you’re just tired of feeling like your home is one more thing you can’t quite keep up with.

And honestly? Maybe you just want a little peace. ✌️

For the last six years, I’ve been working side by side with clients across the Twin Cities, from all walks of life, to find ways to make their homes feel more manageable. Not by forcing everyone into the same organizing system or holding them to someone else’s standards, but by figuring out what actually works for them.

Sometimes that means scrubbing kitchens and bathrooms that have gotten away from us. Sometimes it means sorting through years of belongings and figuring out what stays, what goes, and what comes next. Sometimes it’s creating a little order in a space that has become so overwhelming you’ve stopped using it altogether.

And sometimes, it’s just having another person beside you to help make decisions, break things down into smaller steps, and get things moving again.

I know that life gets messy. Our energy changes. Our circumstances change. Sometimes the systems that used to work for us stop working, and we need a little help finding our footing again.

Your home doesn’t have to be perfect to deserve care. And you don’t have to get everything together before asking for help.

If you’ve been looking around your home wondering where to even begin, you don’t have to figure that part out alone.

Tell me what’s been weighing on you lately. We can talk through what would help, find a place to start, and take it one step at a time. 💜

HOW IS IT ALREADY OCTOBER?

I’m officially booking into November, and I’m feeling pretty grateful (rather than frustrated) about it. 🧡🍁🎃

One thing I’ve been intentional about from the beginning is keeping Restored Home Company small enough that our clients actually feel cared for.

I don’t want to build a business where we’re rushing from house to house, trying to fit in as many appointments as possible.

I want to know my clients. I want to notice the little things. I want people to feel comfortable letting us into their homes and know that the person walking through the door actually cares about the work they’re doing there.

That means we have limits on how quickly we can grow.

But it doesn’t mean we’re done growing.

There’s definitely room for Restored Home Company to become something bigger. I just want to do it thoughtfully, with the right people beside me who understand what we’re building and why it matters.

For now, I’m just so grateful for the clients who have trusted me with their homes, and for the people who continue to recommend us to their friends and family.

We’re definitely growing. But always in a way that’s focused on intentionally rather than speed. 🧡

TO-DO LISTS.

Did you just groan a little bit inside? 😂

Here’s what works for me… and what works for everyone is different.

I keep two small dry-erase boards on my fridge. It’s a space I’m in constantly, and the whole family sees them.

I used to make to-do lists where everything came pouring out. And instead of helping, they just made me overwhelmed.

So I changed the system.

Board #1: Groceries.
When we’re getting low on something, I write it down. When the board gets full, I take a picture and go shopping. Anything I don’t buy stays for next time.

Board #2: Remember.
I get to list *up to* three things. That’s it.

Today mine says “clean bathroom” and “cat boxes.” Other days it might be “email the school” or “walk the dog.”

Anything beyond those three goes into my brain-dump journal. (More on that another time.)

Because I can do three things. I cannot do 47 things.

This keeps me focused, accountable, and— most importantly— gives me a chance to actually feel accomplished instead of constantly feeling behind.

The goal isn’t the perfect system. It’s finding one that works with the way you actually live.

If your system is making you feel more overwhelmed instead of less, maybe the problem isn’t you.

Maybe the system just needs to change.

The work is sometimes bigger than the job.

I’ve been thinking about that a lot lately.

A cleaning appointment can look pretty simple from the outside. I show up, I clean, and I go home.

But sometimes I learn that what someone really needs has very little to do with cleaning.

Sometimes they need help getting back into a part of their home they’ve been avoiding.

Sometimes they need someone they trust to help them figure out what comes next.

Sometimes they just need another person there.

I’ve had a couple of experiences like that lately, and they’ve made me realize how often this work takes me places I never expected when I started the business.

Yes, this is still a cleaning company. 😂

But I think I’m also building something that makes room for the messy parts of life… the things that don’t fit neatly into a service description.

And honestly, those have become some of the parts of this work that mean the most to me.

THE ONE-HOUR RESET

Sometimes you don’t need a full clean, but you do need a little help getting unstuck.

I’ll spend one focused hour helping you tackle whatever would make the biggest difference that day.

Maybe it’s your kitchen, or a busy, shared bathroom. A growing pile of laundry, or one small organizing project that keeps getting put off.

It’s also very possible you have no idea where to start, and that’s ok, too. We’ll figure it out together and start there.

$75 · 1 hour

Sometimes the hardest part isn’t the work. It’s looking at everything that needs to be done and having absolutely no idea which thing to do first.

So don’t.

I want you to know that I don’t expect you to have a plan before asking for help. I don’t even need to know how you got to where you are now. You’re here, and you’re feeling overwhelmed. That’s enough for me.

Let’s walk through it together and figure out what would actually feel like relief. I’ll help with the details.

You don’t have to decide what matters most, what can wait, or where to begin. You just have to be ready to start somewhere.

A couple years ago, I was living in a 4-bedroom house on a quarter acre with a 2-car garage that was primarily used for storage. I also had a 1,000-square-foot antique shop in downtown St. Paul.

There was stuff.

Family heirlooms. Consignment. Unfinished projects. Kid stuff. Animal stuff. “Maybe one day” stuff. And a whole lot of things that carried stories and memories and emotional weight.

Then 2025 happened.

The dissolution of my marriage, the death of my mother, and a move that meant squeezing into a small apartment for a year while I figured out what came next.

I moved from storage unit to storage unit, slowly selling, donating, and paring down. I was letting go of things I had carried for years, sometimes because I wanted them and sometimes because I wasn’t ready to face what they represented.

And all the while, I was going into other people’s homes and helping them do the same thing.

There’s something humbling about helping other people create peace in their homes while your own life feels anything but peaceful. My progress was painfully slow, and it was heavier than I expected. But little by little, I kept moving forward.

Today marks the final leg of this particular journey.

No more storage units.

I’m now in a manageable 3-bedroom home with a basement, and for the first time in a long time, I feel a real sense of peace in my space, my mind, and my heart.

A couple years ago, I chose “ease” as my word for the year. I wanted less burden and shame. More time with my kids and animals. More travel. More time with the people I love. And, somehow, I’ve built more of that life than I thought I could.

I don’t share this because I have it all figured out. I share it because I know what it feels like to look at a space, a pile, or a whole life that feels impossibly overwhelming and not know where to begin.

Progress doesn’t always happen in a straight line. Sometimes it’s a big push, sometimes it’s one small step at a time, and sometimes it simply means having someone beside you who isn’t judging the mess.

That’s really what I hope to offer through this work— not perfection, but a little more breathing room. You don’t have to figure it all out at once. You just have to start making room for what comes next.

There is a version of your life on the other side of the overwhelm. It may not look exactly like the one you imagined, but it can definitely feel lighter, calmer, and something to feel proud of. 🖤

One of the things I’m most grateful for about this work is that I’ve been able to build it around the reality of my actual life.

I’m a single mom, and one of my kids has medical needs that don’t always care what I have scheduled that day. There have been seasons when I’ve needed more flexibility than a traditional job could offer, while still needing to support my family.

For a long time, I felt like I was constantly trying to balance being the mom my kids needed with being the person responsible for keeping everything else moving.

Building Restored Home Company gave me another way.

It hasn’t made life magically easy. Running a business while raising kids comes with its own challenges, and my house gets behind just like everyone else’s. There are still days when life changes the plan entirely.

But I have more freedom to respond to the life that’s actually happening. And I think that has shaped the way I show up in other people’s homes, too.

When someone tells me they’re embarrassed that things have gotten away from them, I’m not walking in from some imaginary place of having my own life perfectly together. I know what it feels like when life asks more of you than you have to give.

Sometimes the house is where that shows.

You don’t have to get everything together before I show up. You don’t have to apologize. We can just start where things are.

Building this business has given me more grace for my own life, and the ability to extend that grace to other people.

I know how much it matters when someone meets you where you are without judgment. I’m really grateful that sometimes, I get to be that person for someone else. 🤗

People often tell me they’re worried their pets are going to bother me.

I smile every time.

Because before I arrive at your house, I’ve already said goodbye to my own house full of animals. They shed, make messes, interrupt Zoom calls, and occasionally decide 3 a.m. is the perfect time to race through the house.

I wouldn’t trade any of it.

So when your dog wants to follow me from room to room or your cat insists on supervising every drawer I open, I don’t see a problem to solve.

By the end of the visit, I’m honestly just hoping they remember me next time.

I care about pets because I know they aren’t “just pets.” They’re family, and they’re part of what makes a house feel like home. 🖤

One thing I’ve learned is that organizing isn’t one-size-fits-all.

I’ve worked with many clients who have ADHD or identify as neurodivergent, and I’ve learned that overwhelm rarely comes from one thing. It’s usually too many thoughts, too many decisions, and too many distractions all competing for attention at the same time.

Together, we slow things down, break them into manageable next steps, and build systems that work with the way you already function… not the way someone else says you should.

A home should make life feel easier, not harder. And the best organizing system is the one you’ll actually use. 🖤
