Did you know.....chemicals and drain cleaners can hurt your septic system?
If you've got a clogged drain or backed up pipe, your first instinct may be to grab a bottle of Liquid Plumber or Drano. While this might make for a quick-fix, these chemicals can wreak havoc on your septic system. Your tank is full of good bacteria that helps to break down your solids and waste, and the chemicals in the drain cleaner can destroy the balance of good bacteria in your tank. When solids can’t be broken down, they can leak into your yard, back up your pipes or cause you to require having your tank pumped sooner.
