Another week. Another four custom gunite pools moving into design.

This week our team was on-site throughout Central Texas gathering measurements and mapping out four new backyard transformations.

A lot of people think fiberglass pools are all about getting them installed as fast as possible.

While it’s true they’re much quicker to install than a custom gunite pool, quality should never be sacrificed for speed.

This 14’ x 35’ fiberglass pool in Harker Heights is another great example of our process.

Today’s work included:
✔️ Continuing backfill
✔️ Proper compaction around the shell
✔️ Pulling light wiring
✔️ Completing electrical connections

Every one of these steps plays a critical role in the long-term performance of the pool. That’s why we follow a detailed installation process and verify each phase before moving to the next.

Watching a pool shell take shape is exciting, but what happens after gunite is just as important as the day it’s is shot.

At Blue Springs Pools, we don’t rush the process.

A properly built gunite pool should be allowed to cure for approximately 28 days before plaster is applied. During that time, we keep the shell properly hydrated to help the concrete gain strength and create the best possible foundation for the finish.

Tomorrow we’ll apply our waterproofing system, which provides another layer of protection before moving into the next phase.

Our upcoming schedule:
✅ Gunite complete
➡️ Waterproofing tomorrow
➡️ Tile & coping next week
➡️ Concrete decking to follow
➡️ Interior finish after proper curing
