WHY ARE MICE SO BAD THIS YEAR IN SOUTH DAKOTA?

Aardvark Pest Control | Hot Springs, SD

If you’ve noticed more mice around your home, garage, shop, or barn this year, you’re not alone!

Several weather-related factors may be contributing to increased mouse activity across our area.

Mild winters: When winter temperatures aren’t as harsh, more mice can survive and begin reproducing when spring arrives.

Changing weather patterns: Prolonged dry spells followed by heavy rainfall can produce increased vegetation, food, and shelter. These favorable conditions can help mice survive and reproduce at higher rates.

Rapid reproduction: Mice reproduce incredibly quickly. With sufficient food and shelter, just a few mice can turn into a serious infestation.

Fall temperatures: As temperatures drop and harvest season progresses, mice begin searching for warmth and protection inside homes, garages, shops, and barns.

Don’t Let Mice Move In This Fall!

Once mice find their way inside, they can damage insulation, chew electrical wiring, contaminate food, and create unsanitary conditions.

Aardvark Pest Control is here to help protect your property!
