Salt free water treatment system for your home (often confused as a type of water softener) are conditioning systems that prevent hard minerals from sticking to pipes and household components. They do not actually ‘remove’ hardness from the water. We offer these systems and they do work, but only in places where source water hardness levels are below average. Salt-free units struggle with high grain levels of hardness which the Black Hills region is known for having. So as attractive as the idea of no longer hauling softener salt is, make sure the system you choose for your home makes sense based on a proper water analysis and experience.
