Lawn disease season is in full swing in South Florida and one of the most common calls we get this time of year is about take-all root rot. It is a fungal disease that attacks the root system of St. Augustine grass, which is the most common lawn grass in our area. The tricky thing about take-all root rot is that by the time you see the yellowing and thinning on the surface, the root damage is already significant. It is often triggered or worsened by overwatering, compacted soil, and excessive nitrogen fertilization. At LUSH we diagnose lawn diseases properly before recommending treatment because the wrong treatment can actually make things worse.
