Why Are Fire Ants Swarming Your Pool This Spring?

As temperatures rise and spring rains roll in, you might notice a sudden invasion of fire ants around or even floating in your pool. Here’s why it happens:

• Spring = Swarm Season. Fire ants expand their colonies in spring, and flying ants take off for mating flights. Pools are ust unfortunate landing zones.

• Rainy Days Drive Rafts. After heavy rain, fire ants evacuate flooded nests by forming floating rafts—and your pool looks like a safe harbor.

• Thirsty for Trouble. Insects like ants, need water. Your pool is a giant oasis for a colony on the move.

Keep Your Yard Ant-Free:

• Apply fire ant treatments early in the season.
• Keep pool decks clean and dry.
• Eliminate nests near the perimeter.
• Hire a pro if the invasion gets serious.

Don’t let fire ants ruin your spring pool days. If you’re seeing signs of a swarm, we’re here to help!
