Wasps like to be warm for the winter - and they like chimneys. If you're seeing wasps in the house over the next several months, they could very well have a nest in your chimney.

Before you think it's a great idea to light a nice fire and smoke them out...it won't work. For whatever reason, heat & smoke will not make them leave your chimney. Call your pest professional as they have ways to clear them.

Don't cause a chimney fire trying to get rid of them yourself!

Subterranean Termites. They're everywhere, and many of you may end up with them invading, and feeding on, your home. So, here's a bit of advice...

Always get more than one bid. Always check with the BBB in your area to be certain the companies you consider are in good standing. Always get the company's pest control license information and make sure they are licensed to do termite work.

We heard from someone we'd recently given a bid for treating Subterranean Termites. They called to tell us they were going with another company because that person was giving them a 'special deal'. He had told them he had termite product "left over" from a job they'd just completed so he could let this person have it for free. Huh?

This is one of those 'too good to be true' deals folks. The amount of product used by pest control companies to treat termites is carefully calculated by the number of linear feet to be treated. If this calculation is done correctly and if the product is applied correctly, there is no 'left over' product. So the question that should have arisen in this potential customer's mind is if there is 'free' product to be had, did they rip off the previous customer or do they not know how to measure and calculate the correct amount of product to be used. Regardless of which it was, they should've told this company to take a hike. At best this is a shady deal and at worst it's a total rip-off.

Termite jobs of all types are not inexpensive, be sure you get what you pay for...
