“What do I do with my dog while you’re here?”

We love them. They do not help.

While we’re cleaning they just need to be somewhere we aren’t. A closed room, the backyard, or out of the house. Whatever’s easiest.

The second we’re done, they get the whole house back. Usually at a sprint.

Just tell us where they’ll be so we know not to open that door.

If you manage a short term rental, this is a find you don't want.

A lighter. In the bed.

That's not just trash. It means someone may have been smoking in your non smoking property. Clean around it and walk out, and the next guests smell it instead. You eat the review.

So we didn't clean first. Photographed it, sent it to the owner and property manager right away, opened every window and let the place air out for hours.

Your cleaners are the only eyes in your property between guests. Make sure they're documenting everything.

"Why is the first clean more expensive?"

Every cleaning company does this, and here's the honest reason.

We don't know what we're walking into. Could have been cleaned last week, could have been a year. So the first visit is a deep clean to get the house to our standard.

After that we're maintaining it, not resetting it. That's why every clean after the first one costs less.

"How much does it actually cost?"

Fair question, and most cleaning companies won't answer it until they've been to your house.

Here's ours. Priced by bedrooms and bathrooms, and that's the one-time first clean. Add-ons like laundry, dishes, or inside the oven cost extra. If you go recurring, every clean after that first one drops.

Should I be home while you clean?

Completely up to you.

A lot of our clients work from home and just stay put. Others are out and come back to a finished house. Neither one changes how we work.

Am I supposed to tip a house cleaner?

Completely up to you.

We pay our people well on purpose, so a tip is never expected. But if someone went above and beyond, 100% of it goes straight to them. The business doesn't touch a dollar of it.

Soap scum is the one thing everybody gives up on.

Here's why it never comes off: it isn't dirt, it's hard water minerals. That's why regular all-purpose cleaner doesn't touch it no matter how hard you scrub.

If your shower door has gone cloudy and nothing seems to work, that's what's going on.

I wear these on every turnover we do.

We start recording the second we walk in, before we touch anything. Every room, every bathroom, timestamped, and it goes to the owner the same day.

So you can see your property is guest ready without driving over, and if a guest damaged something, you've got video from before anybody cleaned it up.
