🚨 NYPMA Members: We Need Your Help 🚨

The New York State Senate is currently considering the RAPTORS Act (S.7532B), legislation that would severely restrict the use of first and second generation anticoagulant rodenticides, even by licensed pest management professionals.

As written, this bill could drastically limit the ability of DEC certified applicators to effectively protect homes, businesses, food facilities, healthcare environments, and communities from rodent related public health threats throughout New York State.

This legislation also includes a 500 foot buffer around parks and designated wildlife areas that could effectively eliminate professional rodent control options across large urban and suburban portions of New York.

NYPMA supports responsible wildlife stewardship and professional accountability. However, licensed professionals must retain access to the tools necessary to protect public health safely and responsibly.

We are asking all NYPMA members and industry professionals to take a few moments to contact their state senator and urge them to amend S.7532B to preserve professional access for licensed applicators.

The more voices we have speaking together, the stronger our impact will be.

Thank you for supporting our industry and helping protect public health across New York State.

SPEAK UP AND LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!

The Raptors Act, if passed, will severely limit professional access to first and second generation anticoagulant rodenticides statewide. We need to speak up now to educate our representatives on the importance of our role in protecting public health as well as the importance of these tools in achieving rodent control.

We’ve made it simple for New York pest professionals to share their insights with state representatives. Let’s share our experience, so our senators can understand the negative impacts the Raptors Act could have on our state citizens and their health and well being.

Follow the link for the advocacy tools you need. It is as easy as completing a simple form with your contact info and the pressing the “submit” button. There’s no reason to delay!

NY Proposed Glueboard and Rodenticide Bans

New York is currently considering legislation that would significantly impact how pest professionals protect public health, homes, and businesses across our state.

In this discussion, industry experts break down two proposed bills that could restrict the use of glue boards and rodenticides. While these tools are often misunderstood, they play a critical role in managing rodent populations and preventing the spread of disease.

Without effective and practical solutions, these changes could lead to increased infestations, higher costs for consumers, and greater risks to public health. Pest management is not just about convenience. It is about safety, sanitation, and protecting our communities.

We encourage all members, industry partners, and the public to stay informed and engaged as these proposals move forward.
