This weeks edition of "Sweep then run" has evolved into "Sweep then Run, then swim" 😂

After a couple of lovely local jobs this morning in Fulford, I drove to the gorgeous . Quick outfit change in the trusty Sweep Van and out onto my local trails for a few miles in the sun 🏃‍♀️🌞 Then back to PBF for a dip to cool off. It's the first time I've been this year and it was very refreshing 🥶🤣

All my jobs have been local this week, with a lovely mix of returning customers and newbies. And the bookings have certainly picked up this week! Lot's of people being organised and booking in now that they have finished using their fires for this season 🎩🔥🖤

Nice little job at The Middleton Arms in Pickering this morning, serves the best food in Pickering, so I hear 😋. Swept and serviced their stove, another satisfying job 🔥🖤
It would be rude not to go for a little jog over The Moors whilst out that way. Another glorious day and beautiful views over the Hole of Horcum 🌞🌞🌞

It's very quiet on the Sweeping front at the minute. It can be hard as a small, independent business when work is seasonal. But you've got to take the rough with the smooth sometimes! I'm trying to use my free time constructively by catching up on admin, decluttering my house 🗑🏠 or getting out in the sunshine 🌞.

Yesterday I had a couple of jobs in the morning, not far from the Noth Yorkshire Moors. So thought I'd make the most of it.... quick outfit change in the sweep Van and hey presto, chimney sweep turned runner, perfect day 🔥🚐🏃‍♀️

I went to sweep a stove recently, and the customer's had experienced a lot of hazy smoke in the room the last time they had used it.

I pulled one of the logs out that were stored around the stove... there was the culprit 😳

Storing logs directly next to a stove/log burner is a major fire hazard, as radiant heat can cause the wood to ignite or smoulder 🚒🧯🔥
Please store your logs at a safer distance!

Little Miss Sweep now resumes normal working hours after the festive break ✨️🎇🥂 and typically I've woken up full of cold 🤧 haha. Luckily, today was a WFH day, back on the Sweep tools tomorrow!

I hope all my friends ,family and customers have had a lovely Christmas and are kicking 2026 off in style. Thank you for the support and custom during 2025, it was more than I could have ever dreamed of 🖤

Those fires are going to be heavily used now as the winter is definitely kicking off ❄️🔥🥶 Don't forget to get them swept and serviced to get them working efficiently and safely for the rest of the winter period!

I've even had my first customer with their Christmas Tree up today!🎄🔥🎅

Your fires have definitely been needed this week. But don't forget to stay safe by having them swept and checked over regularly.
