What biohazard cleaning actually involves and why it matters 👇

When people hear the term biohazard cleaning, many assume it's something they would never come across.

The reality is, it covers far more situations than most people realise.

It can include environments affected by bodily fluids, trauma, severe contamination, hoarding situations, unattended deaths and other circumstances where specialist cleaning and decontamination are required.

What makes biohazard cleaning different isn't just the cleaning itself.

It's the level of training, safety procedures, risk assessment and attention to detail needed to ensure an environment is made safe again.

These situations are often difficult for the individuals and families involved, which is why they need to be handled professionally, respectfully and with complete discretion.

It's not a service people usually think about until they need it.

But when they do, it's important that it's carried out correctly.

Before learning more about it, what did you think biohazard cleaning involved?

Everyone’s situation is different

And that’s something I never lose sight of in this line of work.

No two homes are the same, and more importantly, no two situations are the same behind them.

Sometimes it’s a busy household that’s just got on top of itself.

Sometimes it’s health, stress, or a change in circumstances.

And sometimes it’s something much more personal that people don’t always feel comfortable talking about.

That’s why there isn’t a “one way” approach to what we do.

It’s about taking the time to understand what’s needed, working at the right pace, and handling everything with care and respect.

Of course, the practical side matters, training, safety, and doing the job properly.

But just as important is how you approach people and their homes in the first place.
Because for a lot of people, asking for help isn’t always easy.

If you ever need advice or aren’t sure where to start, you’re always welcome to message in confidence 😊

Happy Birthday to our very own Helen! đŸŽ‰đŸ€

Today we're celebrating the woman behind Keskin Cleaning.

As well as running a business, Helen is also a wife, a mum, and somehow manages to juggle all of life's demands whilst always putting her clients first.

Most people only see the finished results, but behind the scenes there are early mornings, late nights, ongoing training, problem solving, and a genuine commitment to helping people when they need it most.

Whether she's carrying out a detailed deep clean, supporting a family through a difficult situation, or continually investing in new skills and specialist training, everything she does is driven by care, professionalism and a desire to do things properly.

We're incredibly lucky to have someone who works so hard, cares so much and never stops striving to improve.

We hope you have a wonderful birthday Helen, you deserve it! đŸ„‚đŸŽ‚đŸ€

Please join us in wishing her a very Happy Birthday in the comments 👇

I finished a job recently that really stayed with me.

Not because of how it looked at the end, but because of what it represented.

Not every clean is straightforward.

Sometimes you walk into a home where things have built up over time, and there’s usually a reason for that.

It might be health, stress, a change in circumstances, or just life getting on top of someone.

And in those situations, it’s not about rushing in and getting it “done” as quickly as possible.

It’s about how you approach it.

Taking the time to understand what’s needed.
Working in a way that feels respectful.
And making sure everything is handled properly from start to finish.

That includes the practical side too, having the right training, using the correct methods, and making sure everything is carried out safely.

But just as importantly, it’s about being aware that you’re stepping into someone’s space at a time when they may already be feeling overwhelmed.

That’s something I never take lightly.

If you ever need advice around more complex or sensitive cleaning situations, you’re always welcome to message in confidence đŸ€

We see this more than people think

Homes where things have gradually built up over time.

Situations where someone has become overwhelmed.

Or environments that need a much higher level of cleaning, care and discretion than people might realise.

A lot of the time, these situations are linked to things like poor health, grief, trauma, mental health struggles or major life changes, not simply “mess” like people often assume.

That’s why specialist cleaning, hoarding situations and biohazard work should always be approached properly.

With the right training.
The right safety procedures.
And just as importantly, the right attitude towards the people involved.

For us, it’s never about judgement.

It’s about helping people move forward safely, respectfully and at a pace that feels manageable for them.

If you ever need advice or support around a more sensitive cleaning situation, you’re always welcome to message in confidence đŸ€

A lot of the time, it’s not because they don’t care.

Usually it’s because things have gradually built up over time and the thought of knowing where to start feels overwhelming in itself.

People often feel embarrassed, worried about being judged, or think things have to get “really bad” before they ask for help.

But the reality is, we see all sorts of situations and there’s nearly always something bigger going on behind the scenes; Busy lives, health, stress, family pressures or simply life getting on top of someone for a while.

That’s why we always approach these situations calmly, respectfully and without judgement.

Sometimes the hardest part is just reaching out in the first place.

If you ever need advice or support, you’re always welcome to message in confidence 🙂

It's Mental Health Awareness Week so I'm sharing this from Mental Health Foundation. They have lots of tips and advice on their page that some of you may find helpful.

This year’s theme is “Every Action Counts” and I think that’s such an important reminder that even small actions like checking in on someone, offering support or simply being a bit kinder, really can make a difference. â˜ș
