🐀 PEST ACTIVITY – WHAT SHOULD YOU LOOK OUT FOR?
As the weather turns colder, rats and mice can move indoors in search of food and shelter. Other pests, including bed bugs and fleas, can remain a problem in heated properties throughout the year.
Here are some signs to watch for 👇
🐀 RATS & MICE
Droppings, scratching noises, gnaw marks and damaged food packaging can indicate activity. Check around pipework, air bricks and drains for possible entry points.
🐝 WASPS
Mainly a warmer-month problem, with colony activity declining as temperatures fall. Wasps don’t normally reuse old nests, although new nests can appear nearby in future seasons.
🛏️ BED BUGS
Look for dark spotting on mattress seams, shed skins and live insects around bed frames and headboards. Bites alone cannot confirm bed bugs, and infestations can happen in clean homes too.
🐾 FLEAS
Pets scratching more than usual or small jumping insects around carpets and pet bedding can be warning signs. Effective control needs to address both affected animals and their surroundings.
