Time for an evening of rat control! 🐀 🎯

30/10/2026

Rat riddance treatment started in York! 🐀

SLR Pest Management attended a call out this evening due to the customer reporting scratching noises being heard coming from the loft space.

🟢Upon inspection of the property, fresh evidence of rat activity was located in the loft space in the form of fresh droppings and gnawing marks on some timber within the loft space. Activity appears to be contained only within the loft as no evidence of activity was located elsewhere around the property.

🟢After further inspection of the property it is suspected that rats are gaining ingress via a drainage fault, therefore a drainage survey has been booked in to be carried out in due course. Once the fault has been identified, remedial drainage repair can be conducted to prevent rats gaining ingress into the property.

🟢Traps have been deployed in the meantime to begin the process of control, and UV tracking powder and a motion camera have also been placed to monitor movement. Follow up visits will be carried out until the issue is resolved.

Fruit Fly Infestation 🪰

SLR Pest Management attended a call out today to deal with a large fruit fly infestation within a kitchen.

🟢An inspection of the affected area was carried out and the breeding ground and source of the fruit fly activity was located in the form of a bunch of decomposed bananas that had been lost at the back of a cupboard. Once located the source was removed and contaminated area cleaned.

🟢Due to the large amount of Fruit Fly activity within the kitchen, a light ULV fogging treatment was applied to provide instant knockdown to the flies that were present within the kitchen.

🟢A Fruit Fly trap was deployed to act as a control measure for any Fruit Flies that may still emerge from hidden areas.

🟢Housekeeping recommendations made.
