Pet smells that were barely noticeable in summer start hanging around once the heating comes on. Warm air brings out anything that’s soaked down into the carpet backing, which is why the sprays from the supermarket only cover it up for a day or so.

I treat pet accidents at the source, breaking down whatever’s causing the smell so it doesn’t creep back, and the products I use are safe around animals.

Sofas get forgotten about. The carpet gets all the attention, while the sofa is where everyone flops after work and where the dog sneaks up when nobody’s looking.

When I clean a sofa, I check the fabric label first so I know what it can take, treat any marks, then deep clean the whole thing with the cushions included. Most fabric sofas are dry by the evening, and the colour usually comes back brighter than people remember.

I can do a sofa on its own or add it onto a carpet clean while I’m there. DM the word SOFA and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

Every autumn I hear from someone who hired a carpet cleaner from the supermarket, gave the lounge a go, and found the carpet looked worse a fortnight later.

There’s a reason for that.

Hire machines put a lot of water and shampoo down but don’t have the power to pull it back out, so the soap sits in the carpet and grabs hold of fresh dirt every time someone walks across it. The carpet can also stay damp for days, which is how you end up with that musty smell.

My kit pulls the water back out along with the dirt, and the rinse I use leaves nothing sticky behind, so your carpets dry much quicker and stay cleaner for longer.

Before you spend a Saturday wrestling with a hire machine, call me on 07741 473 150 for a price.

It usually costs less than people expect, and you get your weekend back.
