There's a point with a pigeon problem where you just stop using the space altogether. ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿ˜ค

The mess, the noise at all hours, the constant clearing up that makes no difference because they're back the next day.

This customer in York had reached exactly that point. The balcony had effectively become the pigeons' and they wanted it back. ๐Ÿ˜ค

So we fitted netting across the full opening and sealed every access point and... that was the end of it! The pigeons moved on and the balcony became a usable space again pretty much immediately. โœ…

If your outdoor space is telling a similar story, it really doesn't have to stay that way. Give us a call. ๐Ÿ‘‰ ๐Ÿ“ž 0800 542 6359

Yorkshire summer has arrived. We're giving it until Thursday. โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜†

Wasps are out in force though and that part isn't a joke. This is the point in the year when nests start establishing properly and once they're settled they're a lot more work to deal with than catching them early.

This video is a good example of what we mean. Wasp nest treatment in an air brick, exactly the kind of spot they tuck themselves into and exactly the kind of job that's much simpler when it's caught before the colony gets too established.

If you've spotted activity around your building, give us a shout, we're out across Yorkshire all week. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘‡

Most retail businesses think about pest control reactively. A problem appears, they call someone to help. In some situations, that can work, but summer is where it tends to fall apart...

The combination of rising temperatures, increased footfall, more frequent deliveries and doors and windows staying open longer creates a very different environment to the rest of the year. Pests are very good at finding those changes before you do.

๐Ÿชฐ Flies are the most immediate issue. Warm air accelerates their breeding cycle significantly and in any retail environment with food or a cafรฉ, the window between "a few flies" and "a hygiene concern" is shorter than most people expect.

๐Ÿ Wasps build nests fast in summer. Entrances, roof overhangs, delivery bays. By the time they're visible they're usually already well established.

๐Ÿ€ Rodents use the increased activity of the summer months, more deliveries, more open doors, more stock movement, to find access points that weren't there before.

None of this requires a dramatic infestation to cause a problem. In retail, a customer spotting something they shouldn't is often enough.

The simplest thing you can do right now is get a summer check booked in. Early activity is straightforward to deal with wheras established problems take longer and cost more.

Nobody talks about pigeons when solar panels get installed. A few months down the line, a lot of building owners wish somebody had. ๐Ÿฆ

Within a few months of installation a lot of properties start seeing birds investigating the gap underneath. It's warm, it's elevated, and it's sheltered from the weather and from predators. For a pigeon it's ideal. For the building owner it's the start of a problem that only gets worse the longer it's left.

We were called out to this one after the customer noticed birds regularly landing around the panels and wanted it sorted before nesting season got into full swing.

The fix is straightforward. Mesh is fitted around the full perimeter of the array and secured directly onto the panel frames, sealing every access point completely. No ladders needed afterwards, no maintenance required, no damage to the panels, and no harm to the birds. It simply removes the gap and with it the problem. โœ…

If you've started noticing birds taking an interest in your roof, it's worth getting sorted before they settle. Give us a shout. ๐Ÿ“ฒ

When did you last think about pest control for your site? ๐Ÿค”

If the honest answer is "when there was a problem" then this is worth a read...

A proper maintenance package means pest control is never something that catches you off guard again. We start by getting a real understanding of your site, the layout, the risk areas, what your industry requires from a compliance standpoint. Everything we do from there is built around that.

Visits cover full inspections, monitoring checks, treatment where needed and detailed reporting every time. Between visits you're not on your own either, if something comes up call us and we'll sort it as soon as possible.

We work with businesses across Yorkshire, from food manufacturers to logistics sites and hospitality venues. Whatever your setup, your site deserves better than reactive. Let's talk about getting something proper in place. ๐Ÿค

Staying in control of rodent activity starts with knowing what to look for. ๐Ÿ‘€

In busy warehouse environments, small signs are easy to overlook or brush off as something else. Thatโ€™s often how issues quietly build up in the background. Spotting those early clues can help avoid disruption, damage and unnecessary stock loss.

In our latest blog, we break down the early warning signs that are most commonly missed and explain what they usually indicate, so if you want to catch problems before they escalate... this one's definitely worth a read! ๐Ÿญ

Discover how to identify rodent activity in warehouses, including early warning signs and how to prevent costly infestations.

Had a wasp nest on site last year? Unless the conditions that attracted it have been addressed, there's a good chance it won't be the last. ๐Ÿšจ

Wasps return to the same conditions every single season. The parts of your premises that don't see much daily footfall are exactly where they'll set up.

๐Ÿ“ Roof spaces
๐Ÿ“ Plant rooms
๐Ÿ“ Loading bays
๐Ÿ“ Wall cavities

They find those spots quietly and by the time someone notices, the nest is usually well past the easy-to-deal-with stage.

The fix is pretty simple though. A lot of our commercial clients call us at the start of the season to check things over and deal with any early activity before it turns into a problem. It's less stressful, less disruptive and saves money compared to dealing with a full nest mid-summer. ๐Ÿ™Œ

If pest control isn't already built into your site management, it's definitely worth a conversation. Drop us a message and we'll have a chat about what makes sense for your business. ๐Ÿ‘‡

We get called to air brick jobs constantly through summer and the reaction from most site managers is always the same. Pure surprise that the nest is inside the wall. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

It makes sense when you think about it though. An air brick gives wasps exactly what they're looking for. A sheltered entry point, a protected cavity to build in, warmth from the building itself, and minimal disturbance from the outside. From a wasp's perspective it's about as good as it gets.

The problem is it's almost invisible until the colony is well established. No visible nest hanging anywhere. Just a consistent line of wasps going in and out of what most people assume is just a ventilation gap. ๐Ÿญ

Left alone, those numbers grow fast. Several hundred wasps in early summer can become several thousand by August and a large established colony inside a wall cavity is a very different job to catching it early.

Noticed consistent wasp activity around your site?
It's worth getting it checked ๐Ÿ“ž0800 542 6359

Spring is here and so are the pigeons! ๐Ÿฆ

This time of year we see a big spike in calls about birds nesting on rooftops, ledges, and gutters. It makes sense, warmer weather means they're actively looking for somewhere safe to settle and breed.

The problem is once they've found a spot they like, they're incredibly persistent about coming back to it. Year after year...

Pigeon netting is one of the most effective long-term solutions we install. It physically stops birds from accessing the areas they've been using, without causing them any harm. Clean, discreet, and it lasts!

If you've noticed birds gathering on your property this spring, now is THE BEST time to act before nesting gets established.

Give us a call and we'll take a look. ๐Ÿ“ž 0800 542 6359
