Freshen up for this engineered wood floor in Scotter, near Scunthorpe.
This one had been done after the room was decorated, so the floor just needed a careful refresh sand to clean the surface back and bring some life back into the wood. It was then finished with a hardwax oil, giving it a natural look with protection for everyday use.

Engineered floors can usually be sanded, but it all depends on the wear layer, so they need a bit of care and the right approach.

Another satisfying project completed recently at a Church Hall in Haxey.
This original mosaic parquet floor had seen many years of use and had suffered from heavy wear, previous sanding damage and several loose blocks. At one stage, replacement had even been suggested.
After assessing the floor, we felt it still had plenty of life left and could be restored rather than replaced.
Repairs and gap filling were carried out before the floor was professionally sanded and finished with three coats of durable 2K ceramic lacquer with added slip resistance, making it suitable for this busy community hall.
Completed over four days, it was great to help preserve another beautiful old floor for many years to come.

We carried out a full multi-stage sanding process to remove the old finish and surface wear before finishing the floor in a premium hardwax oil for a natural, durable finish that enhances the grain without looking overly glossy.
