Double trouble. Householder today had two wasp nest mat the bottom of their garden.
Very swiftly dealt with as the client had a severe allergy to wasp and bee venom.

Client called with a continual scratching/gnawing noise coming from above a bedroom window.
I suspected wasps chewing through the plasterboard to make a nest.

Jim Armstrong, from Castle Carrock, Cumberland, built a career as a mole-catcher. Employed by a committee of farmers, he earned £5 a week to cover an area of 7,000 acres in Cumberland. Supplementing his income, he sold the pelts to the export trade.

In this photograph, he is seen skinning the day’s catch on a farm in Cumwhitton. Over two and a half years, Armstrong successfully caught 27,000 moles, indirectly contributing to increased home food production. (1948)

These are woolly bears or carpet beetle larvae.
They live on natural fibres, wool, fur, silk, leather, feathers, book bindings and old nests.

If you are finding these larvae in your carpets then you need to get them sorted before they do too much damage.

Cockroaches! Not just something you see on holiday!

Cockroaches are a big problem in Scunthorpe!

Sometimes coming through the drains, sometimes through the pipework and electical conduit of adjoining flats and houses and sometimes being brought in on takeaway packaging.

The biggest DIY impact you can make on cockroaches once you have them, is to reduce their food sources.
