🍂🍁 AUTUMN LEAVES & COLD WALKS 🍁🍂

It's that time again where the mornings have that little hint of coldness about them! 🥶

You know when you look outside, see the sun shining ☀️ and think "Oh, it'll be alright in a jumper, I don't need a coat!" 🤦🏼‍♀️😂
FAST FORWARD 10 MINUTES… 🥶🥶🥶

Absolutely freezing, regretting every life decision you've ever made and wondering why you didn't just put the bloody coat on in the first place!! 🤣🤣🧥

Robins are singing away in the garden 🐦❤️ and the squirrels are making their daily appearance to wind up my dog! 🐿️🐕 Honestly, they wake up every morning and choose violence! 😂😂

But I LOVE everything about autumn! 🍂🧡🍁 The crunchy leaves, the crisp air, the gorgeous colours, the cosy evenings and those beautiful sunsets! 😍🌅

And then there's the BEST bit… 👀👇🏼

YES, I'm THAT person who starts watching Christmas films before December! 🎅🏼🎄😂 Don't come for me! 🙈🤣

Honestly, give me a cosy night in, a blanket, snacks and a cheesy Christmas film where everyone miraculously finds love in a snowy little village in the last 10 minutes! 🤣❤️❄️

Meanwhile, I'm sat there in my living room looking like a wrapped-up sausage, eating snacks and wondering why real life doesn't come with a Christmas soundtrack! 😂😂🎄

Don't get me wrong, I'll still moan about being cold, complain about the heating bill 💸🥶 and spend 20 minutes looking for the blanket that's literally underneath me! 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣

But there's just something about this time of year that I absolutely LOVE! 🧡🍂

🌸Autumnal days & New weeks 🌞

We are up and feeling fresh & ready for the new week ahead! The heating also thinks the same 🥶
We had a lovely weekend myself & my hubby went out out to a fleetwood mac tribute & had a really lovely evening followed by work Saturday then a quiz night to raise money for The clean sheet which we came 3rd!!
Our team made the decision before we started that if we won all our winnings would go back into the charity- we WILL win next time 🥰

Sunday consisted of laundry, early shopping for a winter coat for Poppy & a slow cooked Lamb roast 😋

This week is another busy one we have no availability this week & Lou is going away on hoilday soon & I'm slightly jealous! She will be radio silent while she's away so any inquiries will be responded to when she's home ⛱️

Thank you to everyone for keeping us all booked up & being incredibly understanding regarding hoildays & half term breaks.

For mental health day this year we attended a quiz night to raise money for this amazing charity!

💚 WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY 💚

Let's have a little real talk, because life isn't always as shiny as we make it look on Facebook.

Running a cleaning business, juggling family life, being a mum, a wife, a friend, and trying to keep on top of absolutely EVERYTHING can sometimes feel like a lot. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who smiles, cracks on and says "I'm fine" when actually, my head is all over the place. ❤️

Sometimes cleaning is more than just cleaning for me. It's my headspace, my time to switch off from the noise in my head and just get on with something I can control. Other days, even getting out of bed and facing the world feels like a bloody achievement.

And that's OKAY. We don't have to be productive every single minute of every single day. We don't have to have our lives together all the time. And we certainly don't have to pretend we're fine when we're not.

So today, check in on your friends, your family, your workmates, and even that person who always seems to be holding everything together. Sometimes the people who look after everyone else need looking after too. 🫶

And to my lovely customers, thank you for supporting a small business run by a real human being, with real feelings, real-life struggles and the occasional day where a cuppa and five minutes of peace are absolutely essential! 😂☕️

Be kind. Be patient. Check in. And remember, you don't have to have it all together to be doing your best. 💚

☁️😶‍🌫️ Misty Monday Mornings ☁️😶‍🌫️

Well its definitely giving off a Monday morning vibe this morning with the mist & greyness- which means you'll feel damp until it lifts 😆🤣

We have a busy week this week 🙌 from regular customers to deep cleans & obviously the holiday home changeovers thrown in too!!

The weekend was lovely with a sprinkle of football, garden games, strictly & a fat roast 😋😀
What did you all get up too this weekend?

I have no spaces available this week & the one off cleans in the run up to Christmas are booking up fast! Once they're gone thats it until January 2027 🎉

Anyhoo im off to my first customer of the day in the mist & dullness! I hope it brightens up 🌞

🫪 Busy weekdays ➡️ Busy weekends 🫪

Good morning everyone,
Its me the tierd & ran off her feet owner of my beautiful little company that is Life Is Maid ❤️

It's been a hell of a week & weekend!
No having my car from Tuesday until late on Friday afternoon was horrible!

Having to use my husband tiny car & use customers vacuums & mops was helpful but not ideal so a huge thank you for all my customers for being so understanding& apologies to the customers i couldn't make on friday 😢

Saturday for me consisted of a football match for my daughters team who won 6-1 🏆
Then a quick transition into work mode until 1730. Home to cook tea as the husband had an emergency call out. Then a few hours of quality time catching up with my brother & his beautiful partner ❤️

Sunday was a work day again- 😪

(A question for the cleaners- do any of you charge extra on a Sunday?
I mean we all hate working a Sunday right so just curious 🤔
I charge extra on a bank hoilday but i don't feel there's much difference as everything on bank hoilday is treated in a Sunday way so should i charge extra for Sundays?? )

Came home & deep cleaned my house as per 🧹

Turned over some laundry 🧺

Went food shopping- The Joy *pet hate*

Watched The Blame on Itvx & sat down for a bit but still felt like i needed to do something- does anyone else get like that- almost feel guilty for chilling 😎? Or is it just me 😆

I even suggested to Lee late one night last week we should wash the curtains as in my mind my house smells of dog & if i use ALOT of scent boosters on my curtains my house ( plus our eyes bleeding) will smell of scent boosters!! 😳
I mean what's happening to me 😆

Anyhoo a few updates for the diary-

⛱️ Lou is also away on hoilday soon - i will contact all her customers if she hasn't already this week but knowing lovely Lou everyone has been aware for a least 2 months 😀😉

I have had a fair amount of bookings for cleans before Christmas as you can see on the post further down- i will not be adding anymore to this so once they're gone -they're gone !!

If you want a clean Christmas time please book in to avoid disappointment 🎄🧹

Right… I know we’re nowhere near Christmas yet… BUT 👀🎄

If you’re a cleaner, you’ll know exactly what I mean when I say Christmas starts ridiculously early in this industry 😂

Before most people haven't even thought about where they’re putting the tree, we’re already thinking about December diaries 📖

✨️ End-of-year cleans and trying to fit everyone in before the big man arrives 🎅🏼🧽

And every year the same thing happens…
“Christmas is ages away, I’ve got loads of time.”
Then suddenly it’s December and everyone is messaging like:

“Any chance you can squeeze me in before Christmas?” 👀😂
Meanwhile, cleaners everywhere are staring at their diaries wondering where the hell November went 🤣

So this is your very early, gentle reminder…
If you’re wanting a proper Christmas clean, please don’t leave it until Christmas week to ask 🙈😂
Because by then I’ll probably be running on tea, mince pies and pure panic trying to keep up! ☕️🎄🧽

❤️💪9 YEARS OF LIFE IS MAID! 🧹💗

When I started Life Is Maid back in 2017 , I genuinely had no idea what I was getting myself into. I just wanted to build something of my own and see where it took me.

And here we are, 9 years later. 🥹

There have been some absolutely brilliant moments, and there have also been times where I’ve been completely overwhelmed, exhausted and wondered what on earth I was doing.

Running your own business is definitely not as glamorous as people sometimes think it is! 😂

There have been days where I’ve felt like I was absolutely smashing it and others where I’ve sat in the car wondering how I’m going to keep all the plates spinning.

But I’ve kept going. 🏃‍♂️

I’ve grown, I’ve learnt, I’ve made mistakes, I’ve changed direction, I’ve built something I’m genuinely proud of and somehow we’ve made it to 9 years! ❤️

I’ve met some amazing people along the way and I honestly can’t put into words how grateful I am for every single person who has supported me, recommended me, booked me, trusted me with their homes and stuck with me over the years.
I have also learnt that not everyone is happy for your success & when they throw stones collect them to build your empire 🏰 😉

Some of you have been there since the very beginning, and that means more than you’ll ever know. 🥹
So today I’m going to stop and actually appreciate it.

9 years of Life Is Maid. 💗
9 years of being unapologetically me ❤️

Nine years of figuring it out as I go, doing my absolute best and occasionally wondering if I’ve completely lost the plot. 😂

Here’s to the next chapter… whatever that may look like.
