This time we had a stunning BMW M2 in the workshop 🔥

Work completed:

• Rear bumper repair — fixed a crack and deep scratches
• Full rear bumper respray — because blending clear coat is definitely not our way
• Bonnet polishing after a previous London bodyshop paint job
• Front headlight replacement
• Full diamond cut refurbishment on all wheels with complete repaint — bringing them back to a factory fresh look

The rear bumper was painted using the new PPJ water-based paint system and finished with Octral C600 clear coat.

Let’s be real about compressed air filtration.

I keep hearing the same thing around London garages: “Just install a 2-stage SATA system and forget about it.” Honestly? That’s a myth people repeat because it’s easy — not because it’s true.

If you actually care about top-level finish and consistency, SATA alone often doesn’t cut it. You might think your air is clean… until defects start showing up and you’re left wondering why.

I went deep into this — testing, reading, real jobs — and the conclusion is simple: add a proper multi-stage filtration from Sagola, and everything changes. Now I know exactly what air I’m working with. No guessing. No excuses.

Candy Mazda – a 3-stage paint system.
One of painters’ favorite colors.

Personally, I really like the build quality of Mazda models from 2017 onwards.

Did you notice that during priming, the entire car is fully masked?
Now tell me — which company in London does it the same way for local priming? That’s right… no one 😂😉

Why do discrepancies sometimes happen in paintwork?

It often comes down to how repair options are presented. When a company offers different solutions for the same damage, each option includes different materials and a different amount of time allocated for the technician. Naturally, this leads to different end results.

Yes, there’s always room for negotiation — but here’s the key point: when the price goes down, the time spent on the job also decreases. That’s just how it works.

In reality, clients often choose the lowest price but still expect the highest-quality result. That’s where misunderstandings and conflicts begin.

However, in this particular case, the client was extremely clear, reasonable, and there was no negotiation involved. Despite that, the initial result didn’t meet expectations. To be honest, I was happy to redo the car and achieve the result it truly deserved.

In the end — both the client and I are happy.

Friends, it’s important to align your expectations with your budget. Almost anything can be achieved — it all depends on how much you’re willing to invest.

This car went through a complete transformation. The following work was carried out:

Red Mercedes in the shop 🔴

New door came in — not colour matched, and the wing looked like a candidate for replacement. We considered cutting it out the “proper” way…

But in the end, the client chose repair over replacement.

And here we are — result speaks for itself. ✨
