We recently visited a repeat client, and it was so rewarding to see that some of the solutions we installed years ago are still part of her everyday routine.

Our #1 Home Organization Rule: A place for everything, and everything in its place.

Everything in your home needs a home! And it needs to be returned there when you are done using it! That way, you remain clutter free AND you will always be able to find what you are looking for when you need it!

If I wanted to declutter my entire house in one month, this is what I would do.

1. Start small. Begin with smaller rooms like bathrooms. Declutter one cupboard or drawer at a time.
2. Make piles according to Keep, toss or donate. Sort everything accordingly without overthinking. When in doubt, Marie Kondo it and ask if that item sparks joy or not!
3. If you are easily overwhelmed, start a timer. 15-30 minutes where you focus on your task. See how you feel. Half an hour of focussed work can make a big difference.
4. Wait until you have gotten rid of the things you are not keeping before figuring out your storage solutions. Once you know what you are keeping you can get the right baskets and bins for the job.
5. Get into the habit of decluttering regularly. Look for items that are not being used or don’t have a home. A few minutes of maintenance can keep the clutter from creeping back in.
