The Laundry Express is the most clean, modern and comfortable Laundromat in Cairns, with everything you need to get your laundry done quickly and conveniently! Of course, if you love to hate doing laundry, we can take care of it for you! Graeme (proud owner & operator) is ready to assist – In most cases we’ll have your order ready to collect within 2 hours or delivered back to you after 3pm.

The good ol' days ....

Ancient Romans used ammonia from urine to clean and whiten woollen togas, and the collection of urine was taxed🏺

The Romans would collect urine, let it rest in the sun for a few days until it broke down into ammonia. They would then dilute it with water, soak the garments, press with their feet to work it through the fabric, and finally rinse the garment in fresh water and hang it out to dry in the sun 🌞
