Hey Everyone!
Christmas is just around the corner, just thought I would tell you that I will be away (taking the family on a road trip down southโ€ฆ24 hours in a car with 3 kids ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ).
Will be gone from the 14th of December - 2nd of January.

As you can see it wasnโ€™t in a horrible state, it was in a state where it looks like it gets used 2-3 times a week - which is amazing!

All it needed was a good little clean, It is in excellent condition as well ๐Ÿคฉ

What a beauty the Webber Spirit is!
Super durable even when they have taken beating.

This was todayโ€™s job and Pietro really just needed it cleaned so he can use it again, which as you can see - it wasnโ€™t in a horrible condition, just needed some TLC!

Love it, loved doing the classic Jumbuck!
Jumbucks are a great BBQ for the price range that it is, if kept clean, they last a while - but they need to be kept clean, otherwise they will RUST very EASY!

That being said, there is everything will rust in our climate in Cairns ๐Ÿ˜ญ

But there is ways to prevent it.
Keep it clean. ๐Ÿงผ
Keep it dry. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
Keep it oiled. ๐Ÿ˜

I love replacing the old burners with new burners and looking at the difference!

These old RQT Burners are off a well looked after Ziegler and Brown Turbo Elite! (RRP price of $2500)
As these burners were under the the grill plate they were holding and contained a lot of of the build up which ended up causing a lot of wear and tear on the RQT burners! ($100each burner!!) ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

So when someone tells you, that a dirty BBQ is a flavourful BBQ, are you really going to think that that littler bit of flavour is worth this much damage? ๐Ÿ˜‡
$200 of replacements on a 2 year old BBQ that has been looked after really well, but just needs to be maintained and the gunk needs to be cleaned off.
Otherwise itโ€™s expensive replacement ๐Ÿ˜‰

I wish I took more photos, but I got a little side tracked with cleaning ๐Ÿ˜‚

You can tell the BBQ gets a lot of love, so sometimes it needs a bit of TLC in order for it to continue working well for the family. ๐Ÿฅฐ

Another much loved Webber that needed a bit of TLC, as you can see ๐Ÿ˜
The grill had a bit of rust on it which needed to come off and the lid was caked on pretty thick!

TIPS:
When we clean out BBQโ€™s;

1) itโ€™s important to give it a good wipe down afterwards with soapy water or something similar.
2) dry it off with a towel.
3) then turn the BBQ back on for a good 20 minutes to burn off any excess water (Tip: this will STOP all your rust problems).
4) once the gas is off, give the plates a good coat of oil - this will prevent the moister in the air getting to your plates, causing rust!!
5) Repeat this process every time you cook + clean your BBQ ๐Ÿ˜

In saying that, they do come back in a good shape, all considering!๐Ÿ˜
