FROM ONE SINGLE TABLE TO A TEAM OF 9: How my salon grew after the storm.💅

When I talk about my beauty salon today, people see a big business. But let me tell you how it actually started.

I didn't start with a fancy setup or a big team. When I first opened, it was just me. I HAD ONLY ONE TABLE FOR NAILS AND A SMALL CHAIR FOR PEDICURES. That was it. I didn't have capital or a big investor-I just had my hands, my time and a refusal to give up.

As I shared in my last post COVID-19 and a 24 month lease almost took me out while I was pregnant. But what happened AFTER the storm is the really miracle.

Once the lockdowns lifted, I went back to that single nail table and worked harder than ever. Slowly, one client became ten. Ten became fifty.

Today, that tiny setup is gone. THE SALON IS BIG, IT IS KNOWN, AND THERE ARE NOW NINE OF US WORKING TOGETHER👭💆🏾 💅. I went from trying to survive to creating employment for eight other people in my community.

I am sharing this part of my journey because so many people look at big businesses and think "I can never do that because I don't have the money"

Please, do not wait for the perfect time or a million dollar to start. START EXACTLY WHERE YOU ARE, WITH WHAT YOU HAVE. If you only have one table, master that table. If you have only one chair, make it the best chair in town.

Small begins are just the seeds for a massive harvest. If a girl who grew up with nothing can turn one nail table into a major salon and a team of nine, YOU CAN DO IT TOO!

THE SALON THAT STARTED IT ALL: How I survived a 24 month lease, a pregnancy and COVID-19 💅🫄🏽😷

Before I owned a tissue factory or a poultry farm, I started my first business, beauty salon 💅

Getting that salon open was a victory for me, but the road immediately became harder than I ever could have imagined. Just after I opened the doors, COVID-19 HIT SOUTH AFRICA, and the hard lock downs began.

Suddenly we were ordered to close. I had zero income coming in, but I had just signed a 24 MONTH COMMERCIAL LEASE AGREEMENT for the salon shop. The rent was due every month, regardless of the lock down. On top of that heavy financial stress, I WAS PREGNANT 🫄🏽

I remember sitting there feeling terrified. I had no safety net, a baby on the way, a landlord expecting rent and a business that wasn't allowed to operate. It felt like universe was telling me to give up.

But when you grow up with nothing, you learn how to fight.

I didn't let that lock down destroy my dream. I negotiated, I stretched every single sent I had, and I prayed through the sleepless nights. I kept the salon alive by pure faith and resilience. Surviving that storm gave me the muscles and courage to later launch my tissue manufacturing plant and my poultry farm.

I'm sharing this to remind you that THE STORM YOU ARE IN RIGHT NOW IS JUST PREPARING YOU FOR YOUR EMPIRE.

If you are facing a business crisis, a financial strain, or a moment where you want to quit, look at me. I was pregnant, locked in a 2 year contract, and forced to close during a global pandemic-and I still made it through.

YOU CAN DO IT. Do not let temporary setback ruin your permanent future💪🏽❤️

Proof That Your Past Does Not Dictate Your Future: My Story👇🏽

If you looked at my life today, you would see a proud woman running 3 thriving small businesses: A tissue factory, a beauty salon and a poultry farm, but if you looked at my life as a young girl, you wouldn't believe how I got there.

My childhood was filled with deep sadness and fear. When I was just 10 years old, my mother passed away. I grew up feeling completely unprotected and alone in the world.

I wanted love and safety so badly that I dropped out of school early, thinking that finding a boyfriend would save me. Instead I ended up trapped in a severe, abusive relationship, he beat me, it felt like living in a total hell, and because I had no one to turn to, I had absolutely nowhere to run.

But I'm writing this today to tell you that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE, AND YOU CAN DO IT.

I survived that hell, I picked up the pieces of my broken life, and I built my own security. I didn't wait for someone to save me-I saved myself. Today I don't just survive; I am an employer, a manufacturer, a farmer and an entrepreneur.

I'm sharing the raw truth of my story because I want to inspire anyone out there who feels unloved, stuck or hopeless. Your current situation is not your final destination.

Never give up on yourself. My journey is proof that God makes a way where there is no way.

1) START SMALL - Begin with a small flock such as 15-30 birds this will allow you to understand their behavior.

2) CHOOSE THE PREFERRED FOR THE PURPOSE - Decide wisely whether you're raising birds for meat ( broilers) or eggs (layers) and select high productivity breeds that will match your goals and market demands.

3) BUILD SAFE AND COMFORTABLE COOP - Construct a clean and well ventilated coop that protects you birds from predators and weather while preventing dangerous buildup from dropping.

4) PROVIDE QUALITY, CLEAN FEED AND WATER - Feed accounts 60-70% of operational costs. Provide nutritionally balanced feed designed for your specific birds along side with fresh water daily.

5) MAINTAIN HYGIENE AND BIOSECURITY - Prevent disease outbreak by cleaning the coop regularly following vaccination schedules and restricting visitors from entering the poultry house.
