This shed is the same one where we previously removed a family of coyotes.

After that video, many people commented that the homeowner should simply “deter them” from coming back. Well, that’s exactly what we’re doing here.

In this video, we’re installing underground fencing around the shed to help prevent future wildlife intrusions. Exclusion and habitat modification are some of the most effective long-term solutions for keeping wildlife out without harming the animals.

Removing the animals is only part of the job—preventing future problems is just as important.

One-Way Doors Work—When They’re Done Properly.

This homeowner had a trapper out to remove this family of raccoons. Like many people, she assumed “humane removal” meant the animals would be caught and released. After learning that Illinois law requires trapped raccoons to be euthanized, she wanted a better solution.

She reached out to KARE, a local wildlife rehabilitation organization, who referred her to us.

After having the trapping company remove their traps, we installed a one-way door the same day. By the next morning, the raccoons had moved out on their own.

The key is timing. One-way doors are an excellent tool when used properly. Installed too early, before kits or pups are old enough to leave with mom, they can orphan young wildlife and create even bigger problems.

No euthanasia. No per-animal removal fees. Just a humane solution and a sealed home.

The real problem usually isn’t the raccoons outside—it’s the vulnerable areas on your home that allow them inside.

Fix the entry point. Seal vulnerable areas. Solve the problem.

No traps. No separation. Just a safe, humane eviction

This raccoon mom moved her babies into a garage for shelter — and today we helped the whole family relocate safely without trapping a single animal. Using hands-on exclusion techniques and patience, we got mom to move her kits naturally to a safer den site nearby.

If you’re hearing scratching in your attic, garage, or soffit, act early before the damage gets worse.

A throwback from last year 🦨

We excluded a family of skunks from underneath this shed, and once mama realized the den was no longer an option, she started moving her babies one by one to a safer location. Unfortunately, I only had one of the clips saved before our cameras automatically deleted the older footage, but she successfully relocated every single one of her young.

And if you’ve never heard baby skunks before… now you have 😄 Their little squeaks are something else.

This is why timing and humane exclusion methods matter — giving wildlife the chance to safely move on without separating moms from their babies.

These homeowners originally called us first, but because we were booked a few days out they went with another trapper who could come sooner. Unfortunately, after removing the adult raccoon, the trapper never returned for the babies left behind in the attic.

As soon as the homeowners reached back out, we made room in the schedule and rushed over to safely hand-remove these 3 little kits before things got worse.

The babies were transported to KARE for proper care and rehab

Wildlife work is about more than just removing animals — it’s about handling the entire situation responsibly.

A little throwback from March that we never got around to posting

This squirrel family had made their home in an attic, so we carefully removed the 4 pups and placed them safely into a release box before reuniting them with mom. Once everything was set, we released the sow back into the box so she could move her babies to a new, safer location naturally.

Always happy to give these little families a second chance outdoors where they belong

This homeowner started hearing scratching noises in the wall right behind her bed. During our inspection, we found a small group of bats safely roosting inside the shutters on the other side of the wall.

Bats are incredibly important for our ecosystem and help control insects naturally, but when they move into homes, it can create health and safety concerns for homeowners. Over time, bat droppings (guano) can build up and may carry fungal spores linked to histoplasmosis, a respiratory illness that can become dangerous if disturbed and inhaled.

We humanely removed the bats, made sure they could safely relocate, and sealed the shutters to prevent future issues — keeping both the homeowners and the bats safe.

Humane skunk removal without trapping. 🦨

In this video, we carefully hand-removed the skunk kits and placed them safely into a bedding-filled reunion box outside the stoop while we installed underground fencing around the area. We then encouraged the mother skunk to leave naturally. She immediately began gathering her babies and relocating them to a new den site nearby — exactly the outcome we want with humane wildlife removal.

No traps. No separation. Just giving wildlife a safe way out while protecting the home from future digging and denning activity.

Recently, a homeowner in Illinois noticed a large gray and brown coyote pop out from under their shed. The onlooker watched as the wild animal repeatedly returned to a burrow beneath the small building, which seemed to be her home.
