🌱 Let's Talk About Torpedo Grass 🌱

If you've noticed a fast-spreading, coarse grass taking over your lawn, you may be dealing with torpedo grass—one of the most invasive w**ds we see.

Here's why it's so difficult to control:

• It spreads through aggressive underground rhizomes, not just seeds.
• Even small pieces left in the soil can grow into new plants.
• It thrives in wet areas and lawns that are watered too frequently.
• It can quickly outcompete your St. Augustine or other desirable turf.

The bad news, there isn't a selective herbicide that will eliminate torpedo grass without damaging your St. Augustine lawn. Control often requires multiple treatments with glyphosates (a nonselective herbicide ie: RoundUp, RangerPro, etc.) and, in many cases, replacing the affected turf.

If you're seeing patches of grass that seem to be taking over your lawn, don't ignore them. Catching torpedo grass early can save you time, money, and a much bigger headache down the road.

Ghost Ants

Don't let their size fool you. Ghost ants are one of the most frustrating household pests we deal with. Their tiny, almost transparent bodies make them difficult to spot, and they often build multiple nests, many times making DIY treatments ineffective.

You may have ghost ants if you notice:

• Tiny ants around kitchen counters or sinks
• Trails leading to sweet foods or pet bowls
• Activity in bathrooms or other damp areas

Spraying the ants you see rarely solves the problem. The colony is often hidden deep inside walls, cabinets, or other hard to reach areas.
