Ever wonder what paint correction actually does? 👀
This 2022 Chevy Silverado is a perfect example.
That line down the middle isn’t a filter or editing. We intentionally taped off a section of the door so you can see the difference between corrected and uncorrected paint.
On one side, you can see the swirls, haze, wash marks and fine scratches that have accumulated in the clear coat. On the other, those defects have been significantly reduced, allowing the metallic blue paint to look deeper, clearer and much more reflective. ✨
And that’s an important distinction:
Paint correction isn’t just “making the paint shiny.”
It’s the process of carefully polishing the clear coat to remove or reduce defects that distort the way light reflects off the paint. The more defects we remove, the clearer and richer the finish becomes.
It also gives us a properly prepared surface before applying wax, sealant or a ceramic coating.
