β οΈ Very High Tick Activity right now across Indiana! Significant tick activity has been reported across the region! Part of this elevated activity is because of early season warmth. Early season warmth has allowed ticks to emerge earlier.
Be sure to conduct tick checks if outside in grassy areas or wooded areas! Not all ticks transmit disease but tick bites can become infected. Lyme disease can be transmitted from Blacklegged Ticks (Deer Ticks). Signs of lyme disease can emerge 3-30 days after a bite as "bullesye" rash. Large warm red area with a circular outline.
