Good morning Tampa Bay, we’re out in St. Petersburg today at a property that recently had new sod installed by another company.
We were called out to perform the first treatment application about three weeks after the installation, and this lawn is a good example of why proper sod installation and follow-up care matter.
Right away, we’re already seeing signs of sod webworms, fungus activity, patchy growth, and inconsistent grass types throughout the lawn. These are the kinds of issues that can develop early when installation, irrigation, or post-care practices are not handled correctly.
New sod should establish evenly, root properly, and maintain a healthy, uniform appearance. The preparation underneath, proper watering, and preventative treatments all play a major role in long-term success.
If you’re investing in new sod, make sure the installation process and aftercare are being handled the right way from the start.
