Same home. Kitchen inside, grill area outside. Both terrazzo, both original, both scratched and worn from years of Florida sun, humidity, and daily use.
Here's what the process actually looks like. We hone the surface to remove the scratches and imperfections, cutting through the damaged layer until we reach fresh stone underneath. Then we work through multiple grits of diamond pads, going progressively finer until the surface becomes reflective. From there we apply a polishing compound that crystallizes the terrazzo, then seal it to protect what's underneath.
The kitchen got a polished finish. The outdoor grill area got a sealant built to hold up against heat and weather.
That's the difference between cleaning a surface and actually restoring it.
