STILL celebrating my 3rd business year on Facebook. Thank you for your continuing support. I could never have made it without you. šŸ™šŸ¤—šŸŽ‰

Sometimes I sit back and reflect on the different paths my life has taken to get me where I am today.

After high school, I spent 14 years working in warehouse and logistics operations. In 2013, I challenged myself to do something different and went back to school, earning my Associate of Applied Science degree in Medical Assisting and graduated in 2015.
That decision led to 10 years in healthcare, working as a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist, and Dialysis Patient Care Technician.

Along the way, I became an author, built relationships through networking, and most importantly, took a leap of faith and started my own cleaning business.

As I celebrate 3 years in business, I’m realizing that every season of my life taught me something valuable. Warehouse work taught me discipline and work ethic. Healthcare taught me compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail. Entrepreneurship has taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of believing in yourself even when the road isn’t easy.

The journey hasn’t always been straightforward, but every experience has helped shape the person and business owner I am today.

Hey cleaning family! I need you to help me prove a point. I just recently saw a post with a picture of a mold and mildew filled shower and that person asked what products are best to use to clean.

Of course, and no surprise, someone commented for this person to use toilet bowl cleaner, and I immediately responded back saying do not use toilet bowl cleaner in your shower.

The original poster told me that she’s gonna keep doing it because it hasn’t messed anything up yet. Keyword is yet.

I’m just like you know what… I ain’t gonna argue witcha, do you boo! Just don’t get sued if that’s not your own shower! āœŒšŸ¾ ļæ¼

Today is a very special day for me. Through all the highs and lows of starting and running your own cleaning business, along with the moments where you just wanna give TF up and go back to a 9-5, taking risks by relocating to a bigger city, experiencing setbacks and pushing through them, becoming an author even through the chaos and challenges that were in front of me, to this very moment right here! Yall, I made it to my 3 year mark of doing something that I NEVER thought I could do, and succeed with! I’m so proud of myself for sticking it out amidst the imposter syndrome, the sleepless nights, and just the fact of doing something that was out of my comfort zone, because I had a vision of what I wanted to do. I truly thank God and the great people in my life that support me and continue to support. They say the first 3-5 years in business are the HARDEST, but somehow I’m still here. Fulfilling my purpose, walking with the lord and being a beacon of light to someone else starting their entrepreneurial journeys. Happy 3 year anniversary to my baby, Cortez Cleaning Services, LLC!!

I was asked why I felt that my purpose was in serving others as far as being a professional cleaner. My honest answer was simply that I love what I get to do, which is to bring a sense of peace to clients lives and living/working spaces. It brings me joy to know that I was part of something bigger in that persons or businesses eyes.

Another reason is because I can also be a light for other entrepreneurs who are starting out and be a supportive influence just as I had and still have along the way of my own business path. It was an extreme blessing to help my fellow brother in Christ with questions and picking my brain about the ins and outs of what I’ve learned and still experiencing as a solo owner. No matter what industry someone is pursuing, if you have insight to share as best as you can, that is HUGE for your listener. Let them soak it in just as you did.

It’s a great selfless act and you never know how much your advice means to that person. I’ve said this before, and it’s still true: Just as you were working towards reaching for your next level while learning from someone who is ahead of you, there’s someone who also sees your hard work and dedication and they are working towards getting to where you are at. The point is that we can all be a motivation and hope for someone who is walking in those same starting shoes we once wore. You’re just passing along the baton. ļæ¼ā¤ļø

*Reference Pics for post* (This one is funny yet informative).
Let’s be honest- Your bathroom is popular VIP section in Club Domicile. Whether it’s a potty party for one, or a family event gone horribly wrong, it still deserves some TLC.

Keeping up with chores can get overwhelming. But maintaining a clean bathroom doesn’t have to be hard when it’s done consistently. Think about it like this, every time you step into your Porcelain Palace or as I call it, ā€œThe Commode Centerā€, you are also tracking dirt and germs that are airborne. Even from your feet going into and back out of ā€œHygiene Headquartersā€ā€¦and yes that includes your ā€œBum Crumbsā€ too. šŸ˜‚ (I crack myself upšŸ˜‚).

The truth is, how often you should be cleaning depends on your household, the environment in your home and daily habits. A single person household may only need a thorough cleaning once a week, while a busy home with personal security guards waiting outside the door (children and pets) may require more attention several times throughout the week. Regular maintenance helps with mold and mildew prevention, soap scum buildup, and minimizing germs and bacteria. A few minutes of upkeep each week can save you hours of deep scrubbing later! Thank you for listening to this TED talk, and don’t forget to ā€œLet Us HURT YOUR DIRT!ā€
