🔥 NWS Red Flag Warning in Effect Today 🔥
The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning beginning at noon on June 17, 2026, signaling extreme wildfire danger conditions across our area.

In response, Mountain Parks Electric (MPE) is taking proactive steps to help protect our communities. Beginning today, our entire system will be placed on its highest Fire Protection Setting — “Hot Line Tag.”

What does this mean?
When these settings are active, the system is designed to shut off power almost instantly if something contacts a power line—such as a tree limb, debris, or wildlife—helping reduce the risk of a spark that could start a wildfire.

While this can result in more frequent outages, these measures are critical during periods of extreme fire danger.

At MPE, safety must always come first. We appreciate your understanding and partnership as we work together to keep our communities safe.
