Recently, I was approached about a specialty restoration project. It was something I felt confident I could tackle based on my years of hands-on experience.

But before accepting the work, I contacted my insurance carrier to confirm the project would be covered.

Remember this 2016 Toyota Sequoia? Grand Gloss Boss previously restored its engine bay, and now it's back for a 𝗕𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹!

This SUV is a recent purchase for its owners, who have already invested in beautiful new wheels, tires, and tinted windows. Their priority this time? Protecting that investment while bringing out the best in its appearance.

And here's what impressed me: 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻! No major correction needed. Just the right care to help keep it that way.

Here's where we focused:

🚙 𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁: Applied our 12-month ceramic wax for gloss, water repellency, and protection against everyday contaminants.

🛞 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀: Protected the wheel faces with 12-month ceramic wax to help make future brake dust and road grime easier to clean. The barrels are too close to the drum so a wheels-off detail would be needed to protect them.

✨ 𝗧𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀: Applied a long-lasting tire dressing for a clean, finished appearance.

🖤 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗺: Dressed the exterior trim to deepen its black finish and create a striking contrast against the silver paint and newly tinted windows. That combination really made this Sequoia pop!

🪟 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀: Cleaned the windows inside and out for a streak-free finish.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Between the glossy silver paint, rich black trim, fresh wheels and tires, and dark tinted windows, this 10-year-old SUV has a refreshed look without needing extensive restoration.

🏡𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗦𝗘 𝗚𝗘𝗧𝗦 𝗔 𝗚𝗟𝗢𝗪-𝗨𝗣... 𝗕𝗨𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗖𝗞 𝗚𝗘𝗧𝗦 𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗣𝗥𝗔𝗬! 🛻

This beautiful 2023 Ford F-150 was an innocent bystander when its owner's home received a late-summer refresh with oil-based exterior wood stain.

Unfortunately, the truck got a little more of that makeover than anyone intended!

The overspray settled across the hood, roof, headlights, and glass, leaving surfaces that 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿.

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝘁. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

A regular wash wasn't going to solve this one.

𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗕𝗼𝘀𝘀. 💗

✨ 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹 - Our clay decontamination process successfully removed the stubborn wood-stain overspray, restoring the smooth feel of the affected surfaces. Plus all of the chrome, including the wheels, were polished back to life.

✨ 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 - Once the contamination was removed, we applied our 12-month ceramic wax to help protect the finish and make future maintenance easier. We also applied a ceramic glass sealant to the exterior windows to repel water and improve visibility during rain and snow.

✨ 𝗕𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹 - We also gave the interior some attention, including cleaning and protecting the floor mats and cleaning and conditioning the leather.

Because of the additional time and labor required to remove the overspray, an excessive dirt/grime fee applied beyond the standard detail packages.

𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘'𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗘𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗧: 💡

Your vehicle's paint can collect contamination that ordinary washing simply cannot remove. Road film, industrial fallout, environmental deposits, and even accidental overspray can bond to exterior surfaces.

And here in the High Rockies, our vehicles already contend with intense UV exposure, dust, road treatments, and unpredictable weather.

𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡 𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗗-𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗣𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗗𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗘𝗦 𝗔 𝗦𝗣𝗔 𝗗𝗔𝗬! 🚜💪

This 2021 Kubota skid steer didn't exactly have a relaxing summer.

It spent its days spreading road base and asphalt millings, followed by an entire MONTH in the forest grinding stumps. 🌲

Let's just say...it wasn't coming in for a little dusting.

After all that hard work, it was time to give both the Kubota and its trailer some well-deserved attention.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗱:

✨ Thorough exterior as well as deep interior cleaning
✨ Wax protection applied to both the Kubota and trailer
✨ Trailer tires cleaned and dressed
✨ Graphene dressing applied to the Kubota seat to help protect against drying, cracking, and splitting

And we're not quite finished! The trailer will be returning for wood sealing to help protect its deck from the elements.

This 2019 Acura MDX came to Grand Gloss Boss for a 𝗕𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹, and let's just say it had been keeping up with a very busy family!
