With the rain we've been getting, now is a good time to think about what's happening under your house, not just around it.

QUESTION WE GET A LOT: "I only saw one mouse — do I really need to do anything?"

Usually, yes — and here's why. Mice are good at staying hidden, and one sighting often means there's an entry point and a food or shelter source nearby. They can squeeze through a gap about the size of a dime.

If you've seen one, check for droppings along baseboards, in the pantry, and in the garage, and look for gaps around pipes, vents, and doors. Sealing the entry is just as important as removing the mouse, or another one will find the same way in.
