Taylor Sweep is taking the weekend off! I'm looking forward to a little reset, getting my own house cleaned, decorating our Christmas card donation boxes, and hopefully getting my website up and running!

Back to the grind Monday, and we'll start delivering donation boxes Monday afternoon!

🌸🎄 A Little Kindness for the Holidays! ❤️

Taylor Sweep Cleaning and Lundstrom Florist are teaming up to make the holidays a little brighter for our local nursing home residents!

For the past several years, my mom and her dear friend Jane took the time to handwrite little messages inside Christmas cards so I could deliver them to residents at the nursing home where I worked, as well as a few other local nursing homes they would deliver to.

Sadly, Jane passed away this year, and I couldn't think of a better way to honor her memory than to continue this tradition and invite our entire community to be part of it. ❤️

And this year, we're adding FLOWERS! 🌸

Our hope is to reach as many local nursing home residents as possible with a beautiful flower arrangement for Thanksgiving and a heartfelt Christmas card for Christmas!

Lundstrom Florist is offering beautiful fall bud vase arrangements for $24.99 each, with FREE delivery!

Each arrangement will include a Happy Thanksgiving message, and sponsors are welcome to add a personal note or their name if they'd like!

You can even choose which local nursing home you'd like your flowers delivered to, or let us spread the kindness around!

I'm personally sponsoring $100 worth of flowers, and Lundstrom Florist has generously offered to MATCH my donation! That means we're already starting with eight arrangements! ❤️

All sponsored arrangements will be delivered to local nursing homes by Thanksgiving!

A little update from Taylor Sweep! ❤️🧹

I had an unexpected afternoon off today, and holy guacamole, did I get a lot done! 😂

First, I spent another four hours in Dixon this weekend working on a Compassion Clean and managed to get two more rooms finished! That brings us to approximately 26 hours of sponsored cleaning for this family! ❤️

I also received a $500 donation this weekend, followed by another $222 donation today! 🥹 The generosity and support this program continues to receive is absolutely mind-blowing to me. I can't thank you all enough!

Oh, and one more thing! Remember the incredibly generous local farmer who donated all that meat for our last raffle? Well, they ALSO covered the processing costs! That's another $300 they contributed to the Compassion Clean fund, on top of everything they had already donated. I seriously don't even know what to say anymore. The kindness of people in this community continues to blow me away! ❤️

A few other things happening behind the scenes!

❤️ I'm working on putting together an actual website for Taylor Sweep and Compassion Clean! I'm hoping this will make things a little easier for everyone when it comes to applications, scheduling, donations, and information. Do I have any clue what I'm doing? Absolutely not. 😂 So if any of you have built a website before and have some tips or tricks, feel free to send them my way! I'm learning as I go!

❤️ I've updated my Compassion Clean Amazon Wish List! There's a little bit of everything on there! Please don't feel obligated to purchase anything. Thanks to your generosity, there are funds available for me to purchase supplies and other necessities as they're needed. The wish list is simply another option for anyone who would rather contribute that way!

My heart is pretty full today! ❤️

Started my morning in Dixon putting another 2.5 hours into the Dixon Compassion Clean! Got a bedroom/dressing room put back together, baseboards scrubbed, and half the main bathroom cleaned! I'll head back tomorrow to finish up the main bath. With nearly 24 hours invested in this home, I'm excited to pull another application and help the next family! 🫶

Then it was off to North End Auto & Tire LLC in Polo,IL for Trunk or Treat! 🎃👻 Camille(my cars name😉) got dressed up as a monster, I definitely underestimated how much candy I'd need 🤣, and I had SO much fun seeing all the costumes and meeting new people!

A HUGE thank you for inviting me Amanda Manthei ! I'm grateful for every opportunity to get Taylor Sweep out into the community.

Days like today remind me why I love what I do. ❤️ I'm so thankful for the opportunities, the people I'm meeting, and the community that continues to support what I'm building. 🫶

Happy Wednesday!

Lots going on this week!

I had the pleasure of speaking to the Kiwanis Club at 7 a.m. yesterday morning! Public speaking is definitely outside my comfort zone, but I'm incredibly grateful for every opportunity to share my story and my vision for Compassion Clean! ❤️ 4 speaking events this month 😳WILD 🙃🫶

A few things coming up!

🧹 Saturday morning: I'll be heading back to Dixon for another four hours of Compassion Clean! This visit, I'll be focusing on a spare bedroom and the main bathroom.

🎃 Saturday afternoon: Taylor Sweep Cleaning will be participating in the Polo Chamber of Commerce Trunk or Treat at North End Auto & Tire LLC from 3:30–5:00 p.m.! Bring those little monsters out to see us! 👻🍬Thank you for the invite Amanda Manthei 🫶

🎄 Looking ahead: I'm considering one more fundraiser before Christmas! Possibly an Amazon gift card giveaway, with a drawing around December 20th. A little extra Christmas money for someone while continuing to support Compassion Clean!

Behind the scenes, I've been doing a lot of thinking about the future of Taylor Sweep Cleaning, what growth looks like, and how to make all of this sustainable. Some changes may be coming as I figure out what the next chapter looks like!

❤️ A little housekeeping regarding Compassion Clean ❤️

First, I want to say how incredibly grateful I am for the support, encouragement, and trust this community has shown me since launching Compassion Clean in March.

I also need to address something that's becoming increasingly difficult for me to manage.

Every single day, I'm receiving messages through my personal Facebook, my business page, and email from individuals needing help or reaching out on behalf of someone who does.

And I need everyone to understand something.

I care. I promise you, I care.

But I am one person.

I'm running a full-time cleaning business while simultaneously organizing, funding, scheduling, and physically completing Compassion Clean projects. I'm doing everything I possibly can to reach as many people as possible, but there are only so many hours in a day, and only so much of myself I can give.

This is why I have an application process.

I'm working my way through applications as quickly and fairly as I can. Every person who applies deserves the same consideration, regardless of whether we've known each other for 40 years or have never met.

Sending me a personal message does not move someone ahead in that process, and unfortunately, I cannot personally respond to every request for assistance.

I also want to be transparent about something that isn't always easy to admit.

The emotional weight of this work is heavy.

Reading story after story about people who are struggling, knowing I cannot immediately help everyone, takes a toll. There are days when I simply cannot open another message. Not because I don't care. Not because someone's situation isn't important. But because I have to protect my own mental and emotional well-being if I'm going to continue doing this work.

I never want Compassion Clean to become something that leaves me feeling overwhelmed instead of fulfilled. This program means far too much to me.

So I'm asking, with love and sincerity, that anyone seeking Compassion Clean assistance please use the official application. Please understand that I cannot accept or manage requests through personal messages, comments, or emails.

And please be patient with me.

I'm not an organization with a staff, an office, or a team of people reviewing requests. I'm just one woman with a cleaning business, a big heart, and a determination to make a difference wherever I can.

I cannot help everyone at once. But I can keep helping people, one home at a time, if I give myself the space to do it.

Thank you for understanding, respecting this process, and helping me keep Compassion Clean sustainable.

It's hard to believe we're already planning for the holidays!

I'm currently working on my November and December cleaning calendars. With the holidays approaching, availability will be limited, so please reach out early if you're hoping to get on the schedule!

Please note the following dates will be unavailable for cleaning services:

🍂 November 26 – Thanksgiving

🎄 December 24–25 – Christmas Eve & Christmas Day

✨ December 30–31 and January 1–3 – New Year's holiday/personal time

If your regularly scheduled cleaning falls on one of these dates, I'll do my best to accommodate a different day where my schedule allows. However, rescheduling availability cannot be guaranteed.

What a week! ❤️

Last night, I had the pleasure of speaking at the Optimist Club of Sterling, IL meeting! Thank you Shelly! I met some really cool people and got to spread the word about Compassion Clean! Was it slightly intimidating? Absolutely. 😂 But I made it through!

Last week was my first video podcast. This week was my first public speaking event. And apparently, we're just going to keep this going! 😂

Today, I'm headed to Carbondale for my monthly Carbondale weekend, and I actually get to have a little FUN this time! Not just cleaning fun! One of my favorite bands is having a little reunion jam, and I am SO excited!

When I get back Monday, I have ANOTHER speaking event, and then it's back to our Dixon Compassion Clean home to make another dent in that project. Thursday, I'm headed to Davenport to help that overwhelmed mama get a little breathing room. ❤️

If you would've told me a year ago that I'd be doing video podcasts and speaking in front of groups of people, I would've laughed in your face.

Seriously. I would've asked, "From my living room? In my pajamas?" Because I don't people. 😂😂

And yet, here we are!

It's kind of wild to think about how much has changed in such a short amount of time. What started as me just wanting to help a few people has turned into something I never could've imagined.

Anyway, THANK YOU ALL for being here, supporting Compassion Clean, sharing my posts, encouraging me, and helping me get the word out!
