Most bats in Florida are small (just 2–3 inches long) and are nocturnal, so you’ll usually spot them at dusk as they hunt for insects. While they play an important role in controlling bugs, they sometimes find their way into homes.

Bats can squeeze in through tiny gaps near the roofline, open soffits, or warm attics that mimic caves. Once inside, they can cause quite a nuisance.
