During summer, are you a barefoot inside kind of household or do you keep sandals on?

I basically live in my sandals all summer. Between living on a farm and having parrots inside who love throwing food everywhere, barefoot is just not happening, even in the house.

Curious what everyone else prefers.

Opening seasonal properties isn’t always just dusting and wiping things down.
A lot of spring cleaning means dealing with what happened while no one was there… including signs of rodents, spilled food, chewed packaging, and hidden messes that need to be cleaned out properly.
Not glamorous, but necessary.
This is the kind of detail work that helps get a space feeling fresh, clean, and ready to use again. 🧽👀

After cleaning for a family for over 8 years, you naturally grow to care about them beyond the job.
Today I put together a small sympathy basket in memory of Geoff, a kind and generous man who meant so much to his family and to the Sanford community. My heart goes out to Rachel and the rest of the family.

Bonanza was such a childhood staple for so many of us. It still feels strange not seeing it there anymore, and honestly, I don’t think Sanford ever fully recovered from losing a place that meant so much to the community.

I’ve had the privilege of cleaning for Geoff and Rachel for over 8 years, and they are truly some of the kindest people I have ever met. Even though I was “just the cleaner,” over the years I grew to care about them deeply. Geoff was always one of those people who left an impression, not only through Bonanza, but through everything he gave back to Sanford and the people around him. His obituary says it well: his life was marked by community, service, generosity, and love.

I am so sad to hear of Geoff’s passing. My heart goes out to Rachel, his children, and the rest of his family. Sanford truly lost a good one.
