To wrap up our Trick or Truth series ahead of Halloween, we’re putting one last renewable energy fact to the test! 🎃

"Renewable energy can't power the grid when the sun isn't shining or the wind isn't blowing."

That's a... TRICK! ❌

Clean power comes from a diverse, balanced portfolio of resources — including solar, wind, hydropower, and geothermal energy.

Plus, battery energy storage saves excess clean power for later, while smart energy habits help shift electricity use to times when clean power is most abundant on the grid!

We had an amazing time making new connections at the Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California (NPH)'s conference last month! Meeting Lady Sugar from the Animal Assisted Therapy Program was a real highlight. There are so many opportunities where multifamily housing and clean energy come together, and we're thrilled to be involved!

MCE staff had the opportunity to meet with Assemblymember Cecilia Aguiar-Curry last week to discuss our work in Napa County. We talked about energy efficiency, affordability, increasing EV adoption in rural communities, and her bill AB 706 – signed into law this year – that enables woody biomass from wildfire mitigation efforts to be turned into baseload electricity.

Ever wonder how clean energy travels from a solar farm to power our homes? 🎃

Swipe through as we trace your power back to its source!

🏡 Your home: power lights up your switches, appliances, and EV charger.
⚡️ The grid: local utility lines transport that energy through shared infrastructure.
☀️ Solar farms: it all starts at local solar farms harvesting clean power from the sun every single day!

This steady flow of renewable solar power helps increase the share of clean energy powering our local communities year-round. 🔋
