Curious about a day in the life of a professional window cleaner? The number of homes we can clean in a single day depends on the size of the house and the details of the job! On an average day during our busy summer season, we typically complete about 3 to 4 houses. If we're working on smaller homes with fewer windows, we might be able to tackle up to 8. However, there are days when we only clean one! Some of the larger, more detailed homes we service can take an entire day to get everything sparkling clean. Whether your home is a quick job or an all-day project, we always make sure the job is done right!

One of the questions we get asked the most when we are out cleaning windows is why we don't wash a whole large window at once. It's all about avoiding those annoying streaks!
When we are working on a large piece of glass, especially on a warm day, the cleaning solution can start to dry up before we finish. If we were to wet the entire window and try to squeegee it all at once, the bottom half would dry out by the time we got down there. That is exactly what causes streaks, dried soap bubbles, and water spots. To make sure your windows are perfectly clear, we clean them in sections—usually top half first, then bottom half. This keeps the glass wet enough to squeegee off all the soap and dirt for a flawless finish.

Did you know that a good rainstorm isn't actually enough to wash the pollen and dust off your solar panels?

Here in Central Texas, grime can easily build up on your roof over time. When that layer of dirt blocks the sun, it directly reduces the amount of power your system can generate. Giving your panels a safe, low-pressure wash makes a huge difference in keeping everything running efficiently.

If you'd rather not climb up on the roof to do it yourself, our team at San Marcos Window & Pressure Washing is happy to help safely clear off the buildup.

How can you tell if a window streak is on the inside or the outside? This is a common question we get from homeowners trying to achieve a perfectly clear shine. When both sides of the glass are dirty, it is almost impossible to tell where a smudge is actually located.

Our professional trick is simple:

Clean the inside first: Start by thoroughly washing the interior side of the glass until it is completely spotless.

Do a walkthrough: Take a step back and walk around your house to inspect the panes.

Spot the difference: With the inside fully cleaned, any remaining dirt, spots, or streaks left on the outside will stand out immediately.

We always do a final walkthrough to catch these stubborn spots with a trained eye. If you need help getting your home's windows spotless inside and out, give our team a call today to schedule your next cleaning!

Do you need to be home when we clean the outside of your windows? We get this question a lot, and the answer really depends on the type of clean you are looking for.

If you just need a quick maintenance wash, you do not need to be home. We can use our water-fed pole system to clean right through the screens. It gets the job done well if your windows are washed regularly.

However, for a deep, traditional clean—especially if your home has large window screens—it is usually best if someone is home. This allows us to go inside, carefully remove the screens, clean both the glass and the screens thoroughly, and pop them back in. We are always happy to customize our service to match what works best for your schedule and your home!

When we come out to clean your windows, a question we get asked all the time is whether our service covers more than just the glass. Specifically, people want to know if we clean the window trims, trays, and tracks.

The answer is absolutely yes. We believe a true window cleaning means taking care of the entire window area. Along with clearing the glass, we thoroughly clean the surrounding trim and those little trays. We also make sure to clean out the tracks underneath where dust easily settles and bugs love to build nests.

Our goal is to give you a complete, deep clean so your windows are completely spotless inside and out. If you want to know more about what is included in our process, just reach out. We are always happy to help.

Cleaning windows with small, intricate panels or diamond panes can feel overwhelming. One of the most common questions we get is how to clean these tricky sections without leaving streaks.

Our biggest piece of advice is simply to take your time. Thoroughly scrub the glass, making sure to reach all the way into the corners. When it's time to squeegee, using a smaller, specialized tool makes a huge difference for tight spaces. Focus on clearing the majority of the water, then use a clean microfiber towel to detail the nooks and crannies.

Lastly, always step back and view the glass from different angles. Catching the glare from another perspective helps you spot any hidden smudges you might have missed, especially on a humid day.
